Hey Sammy, I noticed that you get a lot of takeaway coffees. Have you ever thought about getting a KeepCup or reusable coffee cup? They're great for the environment cause they stop you from throwing away countless takeaway cups into landfill!
I've only recently thought about how messed up landfill really is. It used to be 'out of sight, out of mind' for me but I don't want humongous piles of rubbish sitting in the earth getting bigger every day, so I'm trying to reduce the amount of rubbish I produce. And of course, the glass KeepCups with the cork band are such an aesthetic! 😍 Also, there are a bunch of cafes around Sydney which give you a small discount if you bring your own cup.
Yeah how awesome are the discounts! Saves you money and helps the environment at the same time! The tv series 'War on Waste' is awesome at highlighting the amounts of food, plastic and textile waste Australians produce and is a really good eye-opener. If you wanted something to help you on your waste-free journey, maybe think about taking part in Plastic Free July. It's basically just refusing to use single-use plastics for the whole month of July. So stopping straws, take-away coffee cups, plastic cutlery, etc. from going to landfill :)
A lot of places also do 30-50c discounts for using KeepCups so you can basically save the money you spend!
omg I watched that series too and it honestly opened my eyes so much, I'm so much more conscious of my plastic use now such a great show
I just watched the first episode of War on Waste and oh my god, the bananas! I can't believe some farmers destroy so much of their produce because they aren't a certain shape or size and can't sell them to a large supermarket. Surely they could sell them elsewhere at a discount or donate them to charities to feed the homeless! The amount of perfectly edible food wasted is ridiculous! 😡

coconut milk is very high in saturated fat though....
Not half as bad as the horrible effects dairy have! And coconut yoghurt doesn't have the hormones, pus or cruelty that dairy does :)
