Thank you so much for this! A friend and I are going to split a full cow in a couple of months (half a cow each) and I was considering getting a 21 cu ft chest freezer for my half cow because I saw he had a 21 cu ft. Upright. Glad to know I can fit a half cow in a 16 cu ft. Chest!
That's awesome! I hope you enjoy your freezer full of beef, and I’m glad we could help save you some money. You’ll fit a half cow in a 16 cubic foot chest freezer with some room to spare.
Yeah I've come back to this video a couple times just to make sure I know what I'm doing with my math lol. Kinda crazy there isn't much documentation on "how much beef fits in my top freezer" , but it's because the "Big Food" cartels are trying to make more money and addict/kill us. a 5.4 cubic ft top-mount freezer should fit a quarter cow (without the ice tray lol) for anyone wondering (5.4 is kind of a standard with these older top-mount refrigerator-freezers)
@ yes we are! Couldn’t be happier. It ended up being 300Kgs and it just fit with a little bit of juggling to get it all frozen because when I was half way through I realised that it would freeze unevenly if I put it all in at once and overload the freezer. So I froze them in batches with our kitchen freezer and a neighbour’s, thankfully.
I appreciate the retired homicide prosecutor letting me know which fridge to get for my bodies... I mean whole cow. 😂 On a serious note, thanks for the info. Looking for a half-cow and this helps a lot. Cheers, fellas.
Approximately 189 lbs of beef (according to AI) can be shoved into a 5.4 cubic ft. standard top-mounted freezer for anyone who is wondering. This will likely fit most 100% grass fed/finished quarter cow shares. If it's grain-fed (or wagyu of any kind probably) it's more of a gamble since they'll be much fatter cattle.
We’re still doing grass-finished beef! We’re currently offering grass-finished beef by the half cow and whole cow only. That may change at some point, and we may begin offering grass-finished beef in quarter cow or smaller orders. Helpful video for me who’s looking to buy my first half of beef.
Glad it was helpful!
I just ordered a half a cow… I have a deep freezer but I might have to get another 🤣

I'll believe people's actual experiences instead of AI
You didn't give me cost or cubic ft in the smaller upright freezer with the drawers! That is the one I need the info on!
Thank you
What happened to your grass fed options? Did you guys just sell out or did you stop doing grass-finished beef?
