If I am right WCAX Channel 3 n Burlington can be seen over the air in Montreal with a coverage area stretching to the Upper Valley New Hampshire and the Eastern Seaway Valley Ontario including Cornwall.
@@retrobin1873 I think you're talking about the sign-off sequence itself. The time where the entire sign off happened is between 1998 and 2001 because of the O Canada film.
@@retrobin1873 Did some video research and I determined that this sign off might be from 2000 or 2001. But regardless, the sign-off sequence still predates 2001.
For the late 1980s and early 1990s (my teenage years), I don't remember any sign off animation for CFCF-12 at all because, if I remember correctly, weekday nights had late Pulse, Arsenio Hall, and then two movies on "Cinema 12" all of the way to Romper Room the next morning, and I think Saturday night had a longer "Cinema 12" block. I think they only signed off on Sunday night (early Monday morning) at some point after Siskel & Ebert and infomercials for a couple of hours of routine maintenance, but I didn't watch past Siskel & Ebert.
The O Canada anthem film wasn't used until at least 1998, and the wordmark for the slogan of CFCF was seen in 2000 or 2001. But I think you might be right when you're talking about the sign-off sequence itself excluding the national anthem film. I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a sign-off that is like this, but used the Ross Carlin anthem film.
According to the Signons and Signoffs Wiki; this sign off is from 1999 to 2000.
How long did they stay off the air? I see the "O Canada" film ended at 5:41 AM.
Did Canada have an equivalent to the Seal of Good Practice, if they had an equivalent to the Television Code?
I was easily able to receive CFCF from Plattsburgh, NY with rabbit ears back in the day.

1:07 Also used on CBC.
Notice how the maintainers are wearing red, blue, and green uniforms--a reference to CTV.
I wonder why they still signed off if it is already 5:40am and back on air at 6:00am? It is because need to rest some transmitters or what?
Can't explain why. But the transmitters did not need to be reset.
nice
YAY! Thank you so much for uploading the CFCF sign off. BTW, what year is this from? Also, this is a beautifully done sign off, with great animation.
No problem ! Maybe late 80s or early 90s i'm not sure. Gonna look into it. Thanks for watching.

@@SteveBrandon If I want to assume, the sign-off sequence during the late-1980s and early-1990s consist of a still image of the Montreal skyline.
I think in 2002 or 2003
500th viewer.
Circa early 1990s!

I think CFCF-12 only signed off on Sunday nights in the early 1990s, weekdays and Saturdays had Cinema 12 overnight.
Is that female announcer of this signoff
