You need to let the water sit for 2-3 days, they can go into shock if it’s too cold.Also it needs to acclimate 15-20 minutes.
Unless u use a filter that already has bacteria in it

I got an oscar 3 days ago and I named him after my mom. He or she is also in a 10 gallon tank with a pelco and maybe some other fish soon and will be upgrading to a 55 gallon whenever I move to a new house. Should be within this summer.
