"It always looks so easy when other people do it"--just so you know, you make it look effortless as well! I wonder if we all say that to ourselves when we try something out of our comfort zones! I like the way that doodling looks, I need to give it a shot. Very fun technique that would work with lots of shapes!
The stem--for me, that just shows the smaller stem is in front of that leaf. It doesn't look weird to me because when I see it, it's just perspective and looks normal. Haha, you caught that, too! I have a tendency to get caught up in those details.
Finishing off the edges was just right! Love this one!

Too Funny! I thought when i saw the image (before watching video) that you had used a stamp for the leaves, and there you were drawing them and being concerned with the addition of the lines around the leaves.😘 It turned out so pretty, and I love the bird one you did for today! I think i have to try that method of drawing with the watercolor. Thank you for sharing.

I would have struggled with the stem and leaf too. I overthink many things and it drives me nuts. Good on you for coming to terms with it. It turned out lovely.

Ceri, i am merely American, but i wish His Majesty would give you an OBE, for contributions to art and general creativity. And Sir Ceri has such a nice ring to it.I wish we had an honors list, here in the states so that PM Artist Studio could be honored. I would so enjoy referring to Dame Patricia and Dame Mariah. 😊

Awesome card! Thanks for this challenge. I’m working on it as well but haven’t posted yet. I’m disabled with severe neck and back issues. I’m not sure I’ll make the end of the month deadline. Hopefully my body will cooperate and I can at least do a slide show of what I completed. It’s really fun and the first time I have ever tried a challenge on UA-cam- Thanks! Sandy Clements

@@CeriGriffiths thanks Cerri, like I said I may not hit 30, but I’m having fun! I have several started and 2 complete. My daughter is coming over this weekend to help me get what I’ve done into videos on UA-cam.
Love it Ceri. I had planned on doing the challenge, but lost my brother then end of June. My gel pad was delivered the end of June as well, finally got it out to practice and my results are abysmal. The artists in the challenge and on youtube make it look so easy! I will persevere and hopefully "get it". I have a few backgrounds inked and waiting for paint and my numbers are ready. So hopefully I'll get started soon. I've so enjoyed this series and the creativity of the artists.
We all had to learn to gel plate, it’s a process, you play and find your way. Condolences on your recent loss.

I like everything you've done so far. The Egypt one is awesome, but for some reason, this one is my favorite so far! I love how your leaves turned out. I've wanted to try that style as well, but dont work well "loosely" like you put it.
It has taken some practice to get to be able to draw that.
The stem is fine, Ceri. But it's yours. You fuss all you want.

You could have bent over the left antenna to be a 9. I might have to do that for 19 (bend the right antenna to be a 9).

0:55 pot plant?! 😂 I'm going to assume you meant a plant in a pot and not the pot one smokes. 😁 It was a shadow of a magnolia tree that magically cast a shadow on the wall because it's practically beside the house. I have yet to figure out how the sun cast a shadow from that direction.

Sometimes simple is bestas is monochromatic colours. We dont have to do bright or complicated. I know, I'm like you in everything except knitting.
