When we produced this video, our intention was to dive into the significance that grilling has had in the culture and history of the United States. But as many below have noted, grilling has just as deep a significance for countries and cultures around the world. We were in no way looking to discount that. This video was meant to focus specifically on backyard grilling's impact on U.S. culture. We did not mean to offend our international viewers.

I think grilling probably dates back to prehistory. Families could sit by a fire and cook meat together. This strengthened the bond between the people and also brought them warmth. This is just my guess though.

First of all, I’m glad Chedder put up a comment to clarify it’s intentions. That being said WE ALL BEG TO DIFFER STILL! I’m African and my people have enjoyed grilling for thousands of years until now, we have our own unique methods and spices. Not to talk about Argentina, Brazil, Australia etc.A lot of cultures all over the world have their own unique take that predates the American bbq. When it comes to bbq, the USA is number 1 but as for grilling, it’ll be hard for the US to make the top 5.

When you rent or buy a house, one of the important features along with how many bathrooms and size, are if it has a grilling area built in, which most do.
