Why exactly would I need to work as a HRIS analyst? I have a associates in Computer Science and five years work experience in HR department. I’ll be going for a bachelors in computer information systems but I wanted to know what other certifications would I need to have to be a better candidate for a HRIS analyst job?
The HRIS manages HR data, including employee records, payroll, and time off. The HRIS analyst is in charge of maintaining the system, implementing (process) improvements, ensuring data quality, and analyzing and reporting on the data in the HRIS. For your second question, I'd recommend our People Analytics certification with HR University because it covers HRIS to some degree. Here's the link to it if you want to read more about it: hr.university/hr-certification-online/people-analytics-certification-course/
Yes, an HRIS analyst focuses on HR systems and technology, while an HR analyst covers broader HR functions. If you're interested in technology and data, pursue HRIS; for a more diverse HR role, opt for HR analyst positions. Consider gaining skills in both for versatility.
Hey, you can always start by joining our community of HR professionals. The link is given in description but i'll paste it here as well: bit.ly/join-hru In particular, our People Analytics certification will help you learn HRIS to a certain degree so I'd suggest looking into it.
