My dad used to have one of these years ago. A neat feature was if you held down the lock button on the remote, it would wind up all the windows including sunroof and turn the headlights off if you had them on. That wasn't mention that in this vlog

These series of video tapes was mad exclusively for American Service Departments, in a failed attempt to satisfy their customer base which found themselves in the shop for warranty service seven out of 12 months a year. The ultimate fix ended up being to sell the Marque to first BMW, who attempted to fix the service issues by ditching the Lucas electronics, but they failed, ( actually, they just wanted to get experience with SUV’s so they could then build the excellent 5-series BMW SUV, they then sold the dealerships and rights to the name to Ford, who solved the warranty issues by simply telling the owners to fuck-off in typical Ford Dealership fashion, this did not last, and now? Range Rovers are built by TATA motors in India. I would say the 1996 4.6 HSE in Black on Black with an overland roof rack, a moose bumper, PIAA driving lights, and smaller than stock rims with 33-inch Boggers is as good as it gets for any SUV, it still has solid axles, the strongest transmission available in Europe, the same once backing up a V-12 seven series BMW, Connolly leather seats, and none of the gay GPS shit for women who get lost trying to find the service center.....again. I think these are the best long-term 4X4 investment to purchase in 2019, the engine is an all aluminum v-8 design purchased from GM in 1964, originally 215 cid, the 4.6 is almost a 302, you can retrofit an intake manifold from a mid 70’s mid-size Buick 300, bolt on a Rochester 650 Quadrajet, retrofit a distributor from the 300 Buick, and then as I did, remove the air-bags, purchase coil springs from a Defender, then use a sawzall to cut the top and bottom perches off the airbags, then clamp the Defender Coil Springs to these, then they install with a clip on top and bottom, the straight axle on the Range Rover does not provide perches for springs, yet the axle itself is superior to the Defender item, so you can forgo retrofitting the axles, which would be a real bitch. Then? You have yourself a real 4X4 that you can trust to get you home, and not have an entire front or rear wheel snap off from the newer unibody designs, which are garbage. I believe these ones are keepers, in 10-20 years, the TATA parts, Ford parts, and BMW parts may be non-existent, whereas the Chevy V-8 architecture is already 60 years old. Plus, if you roll it? You can still yank that aluminum V-8 and install it in your 1969 Datsun 510, gain the torque, yet not upset the perfect 50/50 weight balance inherent to the fine 510.
