Thanks, visited a few places in Olympic National Park last year around this time - www.loveyourrv.com/rainforest-hike-epic-mountain-vista-and-an-international-ferry-ride/
I watch a channel with a nice guy who grows many trees and plants that are beautiful to see and he shared his trip with us to the Rhododendrum museum it was raining but he got some really close up shots of some beautiful trees and Rhododendrum‘s that were awesome to see with him and his 2 young daughters! Most of the beautiful areas of your trip are very pretty and some nice areas to visit or camping. I like the satellite view that you share. It really puts things into perspective especially if it’s somewhere I’ve been or want to see it for myself. See you on part 2 of your beautiful journey home. 👍
Speaking of casinos as stopovers, a very nice one is the Seven Cedars Casino in Blyn/Sequim, located on Rte. 101 east of Port Angeles. IIRC, this casino allows free stays for 3 days. Well-maintained and with friendly staff. The paved parking lot is on a slight slope, however, making levelers necessary.
Hey, you guys must have driven near our house! We're an hour south of Dosiwallips, just off of highway 3. We've got the same trailer as you (different decals and dinette area). We camped there in the fall (a bit away from the highway, though). Also, walked down the same trail and saw elk on the way back. There's a trail from the campground that goes to the other side of the highway to get to the lookout. We also drove to the waterfall and hiked up to it. Blew my head gasket there! We were able to tow the rig home, though, and get my mechanic to replace it. Dodge pickup!! Washington state is great to resident veterans. If you have a service connected disability, you can camp for free in any state park. That is an amazing and generous deal. The only restriction is that you have to limit it to 14 days per campground. We plan on taking advantage of this when we do our early retirement next year. We also plan on doing somewhat of the same route you take each year and head south during the winter. You've given me some ideas for adding to the trailer to prepare for boondocking, so thanks for that! Cheers!
Enjoy your videos. They make me feel like I am right there with you. I’m sure you said it in one of your videos but which model number is your Cougar I am thinking about purchasing one but I don’t want to get one that’s too long I heard that 29 feet is fine for the national parks thanks a lot
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply to me I am looking at possibly getting a 278RK which is only I think 29 feet possibly a foot shorter but I really like the kitchen in the rear as you have windows in two directions thanks again and safe travels I enjoy your videos immensely.
I love that side of Hood Canal. I used to go to summer camp at Camp Parsons 5 miles north of Dosewallips. Also did a lot of hiking in the National Forest around that area. Whenever I pass through from Hood Canal to P.A. I try and stop at Fat Smitty's for a burger. Glad you two are home safe and the new truck is working so well for you. Looking forward to any new mods you come up with this summer/fall on the island!
Hi Ray, glad you're still sharing your journeys with us. Thanks for your videos. I have a question about pets. I had a Rottweiler for eleven years, from the time she was a puppy. She died eight years ago. Lately, I am bouncing back and forth between getting another dog to take with me in my truck & RV. I know Angie's death still seems recent, but I wonder what thoughts you may have on the subject now: RVing with a pet versus not having one? And if it is too soon, please forgive and disregard the question altogether. Cheers!
Definity pros and cons. I love the companionship and miss her tons. Being that we had 2 beagles it's a big reason we began to RV so we could take our dogs along on our travels. But they are an anchor and limit many activities away from the RV. More and more these days dogs are banned from places. Especially national parks trails, beaches and some state park ones. Also, there is a constant concern when in hot weather and the problem of tight campgrounds and being courteous to nondog loving neighbors. Finally the smell and hair in the rig. ;) We plan to get a dog or two again but are going to take a few years break to enjoy the freedoms for a while before that time, we may do a few extended overseas trips. Having said that though a dog may find us, it can be hard to resist a set of puppy dog eyes. Cheers, Ray
Planning a Washington State trip next month. We've been before, but want to do some tent camping again this year. I have 4 friends up thataway, hopefully one or two will have some time to hang for a bit.
Was just there last week, although I’m in a camper van and parked down by the river with no hookups. It is a very well maintained park, but too crowded and not enough privacy for my liking. Didn’t luck out like you and see a bald eagle! Thanks for sharing.
So Ray, how tall was that bridge? I used Google Maps and walked the road and never saw a sign indicating what the clearance was on that bridge, it sure looked lower than a normal bridge but maybe just the camera lens.

very nice Ray, thanks, always enjoy your videos.
Beautiful Ray, Thank you!
Nice update. Have you been to the Olympic National Park ? That area is very interesting. I'm sure it's spectacular.

They are such a beautiful plant and so many variations to the flowers.

Thanks, yeah, we have stayed there 4 or 5 times and always found it a good stopover.
Mucks are the best!

Wow, that is a great deal!

Hi Rick, ours is a model 276RLS and tape measures near 30 feet tip to tail

That’s some kinda pretty Ray. Glad to hear you all had safe travels back to BC. How did the new truck work out after the long trip?
Performing great! Just hit 10,000 miles. Will have an updated review on it later in the month once we get settled in our summer RV park.

I really appreciate the thorough reply. Great points to consider. Thank you.
Awesome video wow nice place

Not sure, but I know it's plenty high enough for us. Semis and huge logging trucks routinely travel the 101 there.
@@LoveYourRV I figured had to be 18 wheeler high but it sure looked low enough on GM to ask....thanks.
Like the forward with Google earth tutorial.
How's the truck holding up?
Performing great! Just hit 10,000 miles. Will have an updated review on it later in the month once we get settled in our summer RV park.
Nice video thx
Any concerns with low branches along 101? Wondering at 2:50 - 3:00 in the video.
No, large logging trucks stacked high with logs use the route all the time.
Very nice. My comments aren't showing up at my end. Another UA-cam glitch. But I won't swear, as someone might eventually see this.
Dude! Dosewallips State Park sucks! It right on the highway!
Yeah, I think I mentioned that, didn't really bother us though.
