I got a 8e42 but it only happened because of two blueprints perko and an observatory voucher all before ante 5, 160 Pluto's and a hand full of red seal steel is hard to beat
14:19 the way I explain this to myself is that the jokers have a turn order. First are the jokers that are tied to your played hand (even steven), then jokers that activate on cards in hand (baron), then the rest who's triggers are independent of cards played. I use this line of logic to order my jokers

I accidentally threw one of my best runs in the Rich Get Richer challenge because I got the 'set your money to zero' if you play a particular hand blind, and I was kinda on autopilot, and played the hand, and my money was set to 0. So... I wasn't able to score anything. Yup.
Originally, balatro didn't interest me, but after watching Frost play it, I decided to buy it yesterday, and holy crap it's way harder than I thought
Jfc this game humbles me with how hard it actually is sometimes. What I’ve learned is just, try not to force things, take what is given to you, and try to stick to one hand/one backup just in case you get some stuff that can snowball(glass cards with seals can easily skyrocket when running flush/straight strats)

As for my highest score: 9.237e15. I got it through Perkeo, (when exiting shop create a random negative copy of a consumable held), with Blueprint (copy the joker to the right) and Brainstorm (copy the leftmost joker), and Observatory, (Planet cards give 1.5x mult when held in consumables for their specified hand), on top of having a lot of X-Mult in general. I think I ended up with 60 copies of Mercury, (pair), and a level 30 pair by the time endless scaled too much for me to keep up with.
Damn Frost getting in scores almost as much as his tenants pay him in his landlord empire
What I love the most about Balatro isn't that it be ballin.
It's just how ballin it be.
It would be quite the interesting interaction, if glass cards were see through for bosses with face down effects like The House and others like it
Or if luckys were slightly crinkled, or if steel/gold had a bit of metallic bordering to them.
I understand that it would basically nullify the effect of the bosses, because then you would just look for cards with those effects, but it would still be interesting

This build totally would have made it through ante 20 if it wasn’t a challenge run. Maybe he needed red seal too tho idk, never seen anyone make it that far.

I wonder… since you cant have duplicate of any card (without showman or other duplicators) had you bought pluto earlier on, if you would have had bought the pluto early on and just hung onto it in the consumables slots, if Eris would have been spawning in the planet packs as your second higest hand?

59:49 I do actually think it was possible to get another Eris with the High Priestess here cuz I swear I've got 2 Jupiters that way when I had that 1.5x for holding planets voucher, think it's just the main shop row where repeat planets don't appear (pure memory thing here though, so grain of salt and all that. I 1000% had 2 Jupiter cards at once though)
obviously you're doing fine lol, just figured I'd point it out cuz you clearly care about being one of the best players of this game and if I can contribute a tiny bit of info that helps I'd be glad

I got my highest score yesterday, I somehow managed to get a 5e30 hand while playing with the ghost deck after not being able to get the 100,000,000 hand achievement.
Also BALATRO BE BALLIN!!!
I managed to get e32 yesterday, with the classic baron+mime combo! I carried showman until I got two brainstorms, and lucked into a blueprint as well. With all my gold cards I was making crazy amounts of money too.
My best one was the voucher that gives your held planet card x1.5 and the legendary joker that makes a copy of a consumable
Wait, did the challenge change? I beat this challenge, but I didn't even notice the chips being capped....
5.730e13, blueprint seltzer on double bloodstone went insane until seltzer ran out.. :(
My biggest hand was 1.425e11 using blueprint+ancient joker going exclusively for flushes.

My high score is 4.5e33 (4.5 decillion). I used Perkeo, Blueprint, and 2 Brainstorms to create 4 Jupiter cards every round, each giving me x1.5 Mult thanks to the Observatory voucher. By the end of the run, I had 144 Jupiter cards.
Damn I appreciate that Gorillaz edit so much, gotta go listen to that tonight lol.
This run was nuts but I wonder how much better it would have been if he didn't waste so much money.

Biggest score was about 1×e18, on rich get richer, got a perked and an inv8sible joker into perked, and held like 50 Jupiter's.
Every time frost rolled in the shop at the end he was throwing out trillions of points per dollar.

2712e17 is my highest score, and I have no idea what jokers I was using. Could have probably beaten it a few times if I wasn't throwing runs by forgetting to read boss blind effects.

Love seeing Balatros. I got noninf for my biggest score a week ago. 1 mime, 2 barons, 1 blueprint, 3 brainstorms, and 1 Perkeo. My hand was a high card king, but I had like 60+ red steel kings in hand. really fun seed for Spectral deck. LE9PWG7D
My pb is 5x10e49, got it with a high card lvl 110 from burnt joker + blueprint + brainstorm, and a ton of steel kings with retriggers (and the serpent boss giving me a huge hand). Wasn't even with the plasma deck

After playing balatro I absolutely love it, but I was very afraid of it at first. Even now after playing it some I think chat would benefit a lot if when someone asks how the game works you talk about how the jokers you have synergize, because sometimes you still lose me.
What's the appeal of the game I never understood it
