Hello. The video is very helpful for me and I thank you. I just bought a PTZOptics move 4 K. But when I plug the Ethernet cable it does not work. How to fix it? The network is fine and the camera works fine with the hdmi. But I do not get it working with the Ethernet connection.
Great video. We currently use the 2nd Gen 20x in our church with a black magic atem. It is darker than a conference room and we run into auto focus issues and we are not fans of the color corrections. Is this model better and would you suggest the 30x over over the 20x or is the only real difference the zoom? thanks
We think the image is noticeably better in the Move4K line (it uses a new Sony sensor with real improvements over the GEN 2 Sensor). I believe the 20x and 30x share the same sensor - just different optics for the enhanced zoom. That said, you may have better low light response with the 30x if you don't need to zoom in as far to frame shots. I'm not sure how the the f-Stops at comparable zoom settings compare across the models. I'd definitely reach out to PTZOptics to see what they say. Best, John
The auto tracking, does it work while zoomed in? For instance at 20x will it track the subject without zooming out? Use case is a church where the camera would be 100ft away.
Hi @Kalrand - In the current firmware, the auto-tracking will have the Move 4K automatically frame the subject you select to track - overriding the zoom settings you have. I know PTZ Optics was looking in to a firmware update with more control over framing, but I'm not sure if that has been released. We will be doing a new video in August covering PTZOptics Move SE and Studio PRO cameras, and will do an update on any changes we find to to Move 4K firmware then as well. Best, John
Great review. However the move 4k comes in 3 variants. 12x uses a different sensor to the other two. Combined with different lenses, do they all have the same color reproduction? Field of view is also important for users, as far as spec sheet goes, the 12x has the widest angle of view at the wide end. But it comes with a smaller sensor, so the actual optical design of the 12x lens is inevitably compromised, how much do all these translate into telephoto end image quality difference? From other demo available online, the 12x seems to have much faster af tracking performance in the same lighting condition. Again the difference is hard to tell from spec sheet

What color bit-depth & chroma sub-sampling is delivered with 4K over HDMI? NDI HX limits bit-depth to 8 bits. PTZOptics says 4:2:2 subsampling on SDI & HDMI, but only 4:2:0 over IP.
