@@basedthoven I think invisible is a bit of a harsh statement if you pay attention to the pace of Frances game its incredibly difficult for any middle to seal the block completely, yet he is still doing an incredible job at it. Blocking in middle is already difficult enough trying to read their entire offence at once.
@@basedthoven he was keeping up with most and getting good touches. He just needs more adjustment in the air as he opens his arms too much and the ball sometimes goes through the middle of them, but apart from that he has been doing pretty good moving fast to the pins. For first time middle playing against national teams and especially against a fast offence like France he is doing really good.
Shout out to volleyball source 2.0 time and time again for providing the best volleyball footage. High quality, perfect angle, no commentary, just volleyball viewed in its purist form. Thanks always! 🇨🇦
I've been watching TWU vball for a while and Howe always stood out to me. I always wondered how he would be in the international stage because he is onthe shorter side as a MB. But he is so fking fast and jumps high, he's amazing ! Glad to see he is an even better play in the international stage than in college!
Love Canada's middle back run at 2:30, you can see just how high level these guys are by seeing how both wing spikers as well as the middle and middle back hitter are on the exact same tempo
I started getting to love volleyball a lot last year, and it’s so fun to watch professionals on UA-cam play. I feel like I’m learning so much, and this angle looks like the best.
Boyer is so damn high. Howe is impressive as well, looks small for a middle but bounces that ball every god damn time Thanks for this quality content !
Team Canada has always been absolutely outstanding in their offense, and it seems to have only gotten even better this last year. But as a Canadian watching most of their games they do lack in the back row défense department a bit
Actually scratch that, I believe Maar and Hoag will have good games all around so the ones who are gonna have to step up and play big are the younger players like Lui and others.
Gotta check out miguel lopez #18 rightside on cuba during the Norceca games. His serves are unreal. Think you would enjoy that too. Volleyball sources has their games up
Can someone shed light on what the big differences between this system and the previous one are? To me it doesn’t look that much different other than more variation in the middle…and maybe more unpredictable decisions on 2 balls.
Looks like their offense really sped up before used to be high balls to the pins now they’re almost shoots. I’ve also noticed they’re setting pipe way more and waaaay faster even compared to teams like the states which use the pipe a lot.
Mainly speed and decision making. I believe you can find an interview with Benjo from Everette where he talks about he wants Canada to have the middle/pipe dynamic be the focal point of the entire offense.
Very true. Vuvuzelas and other noise makers do not have a place in this sport. Really annoying and makes the game nearly unwatchable. Canadian fans should be ashamed of themselves especially in a practice game.
I know the spot is practicable but for 2 international teams it's not decent. Why? Because that gives an amateur image of our sport in comparison to basket and football who never let their players do their job in the elementary spot with handball line...
I’m going to respectfully disagree - the court surface itself is made from the same materiel as GerFlor, and it’s a state-of-the-art floor that provides proper support and give to the athletes who are jumping on it all the time. Compare this to the venue they’ll be playing games at, where it’s GerFloor on Sport Court, sitting on concrete. I guarantee you the players prefer this game, lines and all.
@@aidangayadeen4186 Friendly match or not it doesn't matter. To play on such a court is a disgrace. You mean to tell me Volleyball Canada cannot find a court without dozens of lines covering up every inch?
its so fun to watch Howe play at such a high level. a quick lateral middle who can jump out the gym- unreal to watch.
just about to comment on it...very excited to see him
His hitting is world class but the blocking is almost invisible here

Howe being himself when the set is perfect.
ive played middle my whole life and ive never ran that much once on a serve receive ever.
Maar is such a friggin unit man been a fan of his for many years he plays so well when hes got the confidence

21 jumps through the roof, effortlessly at that, but is the block drift of concern?

number 21 on the Canada team is running from outside the court! so much speed on his hits
