- A criminal law lecture on robbery for students studying criminal law in England and Wales on the LLB or GDL.
Robbery is, simply put, theft with the use of force. The definition comes from section 8 of the Theft Act 1968.
Theft is the dishonest appropriation of property belonging to another with the intention to permanently deprive. Force, meanwhile, is given its ordinary meaning as used in everyday life.
