Normally, I would agree, but in this case, I had already done the first rappel (with extension and 3rd hand) and was holding on to the rope to do a fireman's belay. This was also his first outside rappel so we kept it simple.
Probably misleading terminology, when I say solo, I mean free solo, climbing 5th class terrain without any protection, not climbing it alone/without anyone else around.
@12:48 please consider extending your rappel and adding a 3rd hand for safety
