I Like That Bachmann Union Pacific HO Set Too.
Caboose brake wheel/ladder detail looks terrif !! So far to here in vid this is the first time I'm liking a 'starter set' level of quality.. Obviously not DCC , but still looks good all around..knuckle couplers, decent flanges.. I'd sand off split line on tender light and put a jewel in there..
Okay my very first complaint is Bachman when the heck did you Ever see an 0-6-0 switcher in grey? They were black. Not grey. So that's the first complaint. Second complaint, Bachman what is with the horribly molded caboose? It just looks fake. Nothing like making a caboose look like a cheap piece of plastic. Especially the upper bay windows. That area just looks toyish, and about as unrealistic as could be. Third complaint, only two cars of rolling stock, Seriously! For the price of this set you could had at least added two other pieces of rolling stock! Fourth complaint, a circle of track REALLY! Not even an oval but a stupid circle! Not worth the price of the kit. Fifth complaint, that's all the brighter the headlight glows, are you freaking kidding me? A lightning bug glows brighter!
Bought this locomotive off eBay, didn't know it came out of this set. Arrived with a busted shell, ordered a new one from Bachmann and repaired it. Ran nice when I used it, it ran smooth and quiet. Seems like you need to run it sort of fast for any smoke to come out. The only down side to it is that it doesn't pull a lot of cars. If you limit the cars to probably five the wheels won't slip and it will run fine. All in all I'm satisfied with it, and it looks nice running on the track.
Quick question, do you run in your locos?
What d ya mean ?? ! ! He's just opening it up NOW, first time !! If he is a train guy off camera or he sells them off or gives them to charity they eventually get 'run -in' ! Do they not ? !!
Is it possible to modify and put sound on that Train? Master yard?
The bachmann 0-6-0 locomotive's where not meant to have sound and would require a lot of modifications to add sound

Did you put any smoke fluid in the stack? I didn't see any smoke and as much as you ran it, it should've been smoking by that time.

Mine dosen’t come out the smoke, why?
Do you have smoke fluid? If you don’t you can use mineral oil, you also have to run the train at height speed until smoke starts to come out and then you can slow it down
