Halls Creek was the site of Western Australia’s first gold discovery in 1885. This small, isolated town is the ‘Heart of the Kimberley’ and offers a genuine insight into the wild and spectacular Australian outback.
On our arrival into Halls Creek, we made the decision to detour down Duncan Road and enjoy a quiet 3-night stay at ‘The Lodge’ at Old Halls Creek. This unique campground was the perfect base to explore several nearby attractions and learn about the rich Aboriginal, pastoral, and gold mining history of the region, including -
*China Wall
*Caroline Pool
*The Old Halls Creek ruins
*Old Halls Creek Cemetery
*Palm Springs
*Sawpit Gorge
Sadly, many tourists avoid staying in this wild Kimberley town, and as a result, they miss the opportunity to explore the beautiful natural attractions and learn about the rich heritage of the town.
Time to hit the road!

Looks like great history and interesting things to see there. We couldn't stay as long as we wanted due to unsettled locals...
Hall's Creek has such a fabulous Aboriginal, pastoral and gold mining history, that could be used to drive tourism and showcase this town as a "bucket list" Kimberley destination. Hopefully things will settle soon!🤞
@@TravelBugTherapyHalls Creek is the most disturbing place I've ever visited. The residents look mutated.
I’ve heard halls creek described as the closest you get to “the hills have eyes”
Halls creek founded by Charlie halls found gold at old halls creek 1894
I worked there. When driving down the street I had to zig zag to avoid running over the drunk Aboriginals. It's a sh#t hole.
Very good
I love that you've included a lot of First Nations names where possible!!
There is a rich Aboriginal history and beautiful natural attractions in this region of the Kimberley.
