The Best National Park You've Never Heard Of: Theodore Roosevelt
Вставка
- Опубліковано 10 гру 2024
- We had not heard much about Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota before we found ourselves up in that area. We camped in our RV two nights in the Juniper Campground of the North Unit of Theodore National Park and two more nights in the Cottonwood Campground of the South Unit of the park. In 4 short days, we enjoyed hiking and exploring, and found a lot of wildlife: bison, wild turkeys, prairie dogs, wild horses, a coyote and more. The unique geography of the area (part of the North Dakota Badlands) also fascinated us.
During our stay, we also took the time to walk the small town of Medora, North Dakota (our pick for Top Tourist Town of 2019 in our Best Towns of 2019 video: • Best Small Towns of 20... ) and enjoyed the Medora Musical.
We quickly learned that we wish he had scheduled more time in this park. Put it on your list of Must Visits! And for more on our visit to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, visit our website: rvtexasyall.co... .

Hey y'all! We were absolutely AMAZED by our visit to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. We definitely plan to go back in the future to spend more time there. We have so much more to share about our experience at the park. Visit our website for more about our visit and pictures: rvtexasyall.com/rv-america/us-national-parks/theodore-roosevelt-national-park . Have you visited Theodore Roosevelt NP? We'd love to hear about your experience. For us, it was a surprise bucket list stop.
putting my list of the National parks together as we speek

Great to see Grammy K. She reminds me of my mom.
😊
Great video... thank you for sharing. As a child my parents took my brother and I to the same destinations you are making videos and that was 50 years ago. Brings back wonderful camping memories.
That's awesome Brent! So glad we could bring back some good memories for you. We absolutely loved the park!
Thumbs up!
Thanks Mark!
Everybody I've talked to has said the same thing; that this park is absolutely beautiful! (And it is.) It's hard to capture the true beauty of the park, what with the wildlife and the beautiful scenery. I don't think I realized Theodore Roosevelt's first home was there (nobody had mentioned that before that I know of so thank you). I'm sure the home was probably moved there to be displayed in the park named after him. I'm so thankful to Mr. Roosevelt for having the foresight to put his weight behind the effort to get the national parks program off the ground. Without his efforts it may have never happened - but it did, and I'm thankful for that. So wonderful to see Grammy Kay again! (Love that lady! She can adopt me.) Safe travels, y'all!
Hey Michael! We absolutely loved the park. And yes, Roosevelt's Maltese Cross Cabin was originally located about 7 miles south of Medora. But at one point, it went on a tour around the country to show folks how Theodore Roosevelt lived! The park ranger who gave a presentation of the home pointed out graffiti carved into the exterior wood where folks from all over signed their names as the cabin visited their area. He also had a second home here, Elkhorn Ranch. You can visit where it was, but only the foundation remains. We were lucky to have him lead the way for the parks and that interest was largely formed by his time here in North Dakota.
One of your better presentations. A little less long winded than most.
Glad you enjoyed it Butch.
What a gorgeous adventure! Awesome video -- great information and beautiful wildlife and landscapes. I learned more about Theodore Roosevelt National Park from this video than I've ever heard before. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Vernon! It is an incredible place!
Beautiful area, thanks for sharing!

Good Morning Y'all ☕️! I have to agree that TRNP is a hidden gem just from the video footage and those beautiful photos y'all took up there - especially the wild horses! We've been up that way a few times but never been "inside" the park, only passing through on 94 to get to somewhere else. We'll be making our way out west (SoCal), then up the pacific coast to Vancouver BC in a couple of days❣️ On a sad side note: Please support, donate or lend your voice/platform to help those in #Australia ❤️🇦🇺🦘 if you're able.
Good Mornin' Ben! It's so sad to see the devastation going on in Australia. We heard that some cooler weather is headed that way, so hopefully that will help them gain control. Sounds like you have a fun adventure planned. Safe travels! And be sure to stop in at TRNP next time you're through that way. :)
Great Video - Incredible National Park - your video inspires me to place this park on my "bucket list" - thanks
Awesome Jeff! We believe it is definitely bucket list worthy!

Another great review thanks! Safe travels...
Thanks so much Ray! It’s an incredible park.
Enjoyed this video. Thanks.
Thank you Norman!
Loved seeing the Bison as I could watch them everyday. There is a Cross Timbers Bison you tuber in Oklahoma that I watch to learn about the Bison. Those were some nice camping spots. Enjoyed seeing the views from around there. Awesome video. Hope your doing well. Thanks! Love y'all
Hey Leann! We loved watching the bison.
Just a amazing video really like your traveling shots cant wait for retirement 354 days to go
Thanks so much Mike! This year will fly by! :)
As always ... we appreciate the videos. I have learned more about National Parks in the last several months than I have in my entire life. Tom, the phrase “:AWFUL Good” is very appropriate, especially if you are from Texas. Might be bad english but its perfect Texan. Makes we want to have a taste of that Chili.
Thanks Bob! It was awful good! LOL Wait till you see Yellowstone and Grand Teton!
Stumbled across your channel planning our summer hiking trips 😁 Teddy R NP looks amazing and it’s not to far from me👍🏼. Thanks for the information! Great video and channel!!!
Thanks so much Matt! We're glad you found us. Teddy Roosevelt NP is HUGELY underrated in our opinion. We absolutely love that park.Have fun planning your trip!
Nice Video! Glad to see a review of Roosevelt Nat Park. I'm from N Dak and was back this past summer and went to the park about a month after you.. It is beautiful and more people should take the time to see it. Enjoying all your videos got me looking at portable smokers for this trip of 7 months coming up! See Y'all
Awesome John! Glad you are enjoying our videos. We LOVED Theodore Roosevelt NP. We think it should be a must visit. Good luck with your trip planning!
We stopped there on our way back from Canada, stayed at a SP east of Williston, disconnected and drove toad through north unit on our way to Medora. Had some of the best fish and chips outside of England there.
We'll have to look for the fish and chips place next time we get up that way.
Happy new year always love to see buffalo
We do too! Happy New Year Annamay!
3 people, small space and chili, OH BOY (hee hee). Happy New Year. More Grammie K! Jayman...
😂
The lumping fox made me(Lou) so sad. We love seeing Grammy on the vids.
Lou & Angie 💚💜
Hey Lou and Angie! We're so glad Grammy went with us! It was fun to be able to experience so many amazing places with her. We felt bad for the fox too. But she seemed to be pushing through it. That was our first fox sighting!
just saw your telafoto lens cool
Love it! :)
Nice video..... Hey Grammy Kay 👋🏼
Thank you Petra!
safe travels in 2020
Thank you Allan! We wish you an awesome 2020! :)
Happy camping and safe travels are y’all ready for 2020
Hey Mark! Happy Camping and Safe Travels to you. Can't say we're ready for 2020, but it's here anyway. LOL
I visited the ranch part of the park in the late 60’s with my parents when it was a national memorial park. I really want to return so I can visit all three sections. Hey, what are three Texans doing adding beans to your chili...isn’t that considered a crime here in Texas? (Just kidding!!!) 😍
LOL! We were wondering how long it would take someone to mention the beans! Checking to see if you’re paying attention Gail! 😁 Hope you get to visit the park again. Each section is uniquely beautiful!
That video must be 6 months old by now, 1.6.2020
We will be there today for 3 nights. How many stamps do you have? How many more do you need?
We have a bunch but we have a bunch more to go because there are a lot of stamps for things in the National Park system so no telling how many there actually are?
I'm going to guess that Tom is a Sagittarius and Stacie is a Capricorn.
Thanks for playing but you are wrong on both. We are both Taurus!
BEANS IN CHILI. REALLY??????
In TEXAS????????
LOL Randy! We wondered who would notice that. 😂
