    Hammer shape tone relationship- pointy gives higher harmonics, flatter fewer harmonics.
    Why? Because the time the hammer is in contact with the string.
    -Flatter will be in contact for longer as there's less bounce.
    -sharper, for less time, faster rebound.
    Imagine a pillow and a knife hitting the string...

    Great info, will you ever have a session on taping pins or pinblock juicing?

    Very informative thank you. I'm looking to do that to my old upright but I'm super hesitant. I don't want to mess it up. I assume you don't need to do each section right ? For example, if the base section is nice and smooth but the treble got grooves, then sanding the treble alone would be fine right? Obviously a regulation will be necessary afterwards.
