@@alr3764 Oh that's okay. It's a service that's built into all GM (and as of 2021, its subsidiary) vehicles under the GM corporation. It's like built-in roadside that uses GPS and cellular service, can call emergency svcs if you're in an accident, etc.
The baby in the car scene was a really great one. I'm confused though about how that could be off script since there is a woman's voice when Mitchell calls the service that unlocks the car. If it was off script how did she suddenly appear? Or are you saying it was off script but the producers liked it so much that they went back and re-did it, adding the woman's voice?
Instead of redoing it, I always thought that they kept the scene as it was. So while Mitchell was on the phone, he just waited it out to make the impression that the person was speaking to him before he himself spoke again, and in the final product the producers just edited in the service lady in as a final touch.
So what they do in situations like these is add the woman’s line in during post production (post is where all the editing comes to play, like cgi, Audio, adding music, dubbing, ext) aka known as ADR (Additional Dialogue Replacement). That’s just basically means that they wrote the woman’s lines after filming had wrapped and got a voice actress to record everything in post. So when he was on the phone no one was actually talking to him it was all Jesses fast improve skills. A really rough explanation, haha.
no you had it right with the last bit. People forget “unscripted” doesn’t mean it was the first take. Typically unscripted bits that make the final cut, were improved initially, and then unofficially added to the script. Then they do one or more takes with the improved additions.
As someone who for some ungodly reason just started watching this show (and who literally _just_ saw the episode with Cam and the trash can 😆), this is a really random, really great video to see! That show is just amazing, I love it so much already
When she fell on the eggs, as far as I can tell it was a decent fall - kept her head off the ground and didn’t brace herself on the wrist. I thought it was somehow a stunt actor because that could have gone badly 😅
MsMojo, I became a fan of your channel because of the videos related to Friends that you've posted. That being said, I'm so excited to see you doing more and more videos related to Modern Family, because it's another one of my favorite TV shows! I especially enjoyed this video, because you talked about several of my favorite moments from the series! 😀
Im still reeling until now seeing cam running with the trash can and what killed it was that woman on the phone asking the wife to calm down and asking "really" at the answer hes a man... hahaha iconic after decades and so time tested!!!
As fun as this show was and still is, they never answered the 2 biggest questions about the the show...whom were they talking to during the couch segments and why were they doing so? Plus, I wanna know did the writers want Haley and Alex to be bi? In different seasons both Haley and Alex had expressed in other girls, Hale with the woman who helped with the flat tire and Alex when she was helping Luke get over Tammy(the Dunphy's neighbor's daughter) where explicitly heard Alex say something about going to a museum to kiss her before she excuses herself out.
I know this stupid generation is obsessed with LGBTQ+ that if you are infactuated with the same sex as you, you must be a lesbian or bi but before, it was normal to find the same sex attractive without it being romantic or sexual. Okay? Like before a sexy girl could enter a building and the boys and the girls will look at her surprised and finding how beautiful and attractive, now, if they do that, the girls are bi??? Or if a muscled handsome man entered a building and both the boys and girls look in awe, it was normal. Now, the boys are bi or gay??? What the heck?
the show was supposed to be called I think "my american family" and there was an exchange student doing the "documentary" about the families, that's who they are talking in on the couch. They left out the exchange student later on, but the couch and the documentary way of filming stayed.
haley actually is bi character. but never really explored it. its confirm by the actress (sarah hyland). the writer intended make haley a bi character who never really had a chance to explore with girl. for alex, they are not really confirmation. even alex really have stronger bi vibes than haley from my view :3
We have a broken step on our back porch and I say “gotta fix that step” every single time I go by it. At this point I don’t even want to fix it, just so I can keep saying it 😂
I think Phil Dumphey was one of the best characters ever I love that the whole we locked the baby in the car was an improv because that scene had me laughing every time
Also it makes sense “Why the face” was unscripted, because they couldn’t drop the “F” Bomb on Modern Family! OmG (Oh my God) Rebecca, I sounded just like you while I was typing that!
No window is safe with Cam around especially if their is a trash can near by... He did this litterly twice when Lilly was locked in the car and the dry cleaners..🤣🤣
If the car scene was supposed to end where they said, there wouldn't have been a phone operator, that scene was written for them to be like it was 😂😂😂 Ty Burrel is the winner of improv
No unscripted moments from seasons 4-11??? Odd. Worst part is I can't really say anything since it was meta and I never worked on the show. At best, I could think of a few times characters were cracking or smiling at the wrong time (not counting Claire's evil "smiling about death" gag; that was a running gag), but not much else.
Has anyone noticed in the last scene where Cam shouts and brings the trash can to break the window, the woman talking to Mitch says ".....tell your wife to relax". This inheritly means that Cam shouting in high pitch and running with trash can was a script and not improv.
@@Lizzie_3000 Even if that is the case, how would you explain Mitch replying to the lady on the phone "that's a man", which implies the conversation must have been decided earlier. I don't believe that Mitch just improvised the phone lady's dialogue as well and told the director what dialogue he improv'ed
@SharadAlagi not necessarily it was a running joke Mitchell referring to Cam as his wife so it's not that much of a stretch for it to be improvised when Cams running in the background screaming in a high pitched voice
@@SharadAlagi The actor that played Mitch heard the scream and thought it would be funny to say "That's a man" becuase he knows the operator can be put in in post. The scene still works without her voice anyway.
i also remember seeing an interview with all the cast and one of the things they said was that the step that had to be fixed was always different. it was never a specific step (i may also be misremembering)

Hi
Hi I liked vid
Cam running in with the trashcan will forever be iconic ✌️😂
Lol when he corrected her "that's a man" I lost it 😂🤣😂
I know! It makes me laugh out loud! It’s so true! I’ve been there and his acting is so on point!
"Sir, please tell your wife to relax. Everything's gonna be ok."
"That's a man "
"Really?"
🤣🤣🤣
Amen
I know, right?
The fact that Ty Burrell had 3 out of 5 entries on the list says a lot about his comedic timing and his improv skills.
Ty Burrell is hilarious! Even when he’s serious, he’s funny!
And the fact that 2 out of the three are in the pilot 🤣👏
I refuse to believe that producers didn't want him for the role. TY IS JUST AWESOME. I WISH I COULD MEET HIM ONCE.
I always thought he was the funniest on the show. Can’t imagine anyone but him as Phil.
The 911 operator's response to Cam's screaming is perfection.
It is indeed, but I don't think that's a 911 operator since they can't unlock doors for people from a distance. I'm guessing it's a service like AAA.
@@olcarewe3530 mitch definitely would've called the police instead of AA

The “Lilly locked in the car “ scene at the end when Mitchell says “That’s A Man” always makes me laugh
Its such a great line to come up with in the heat of the moment, great improv
"We locked our baby in the car and people are judging us" 😭
I SWEAR TO GOD I’M GONNA BREAK IT
😂
DO NOT break the window, you’ll get glass on her!
Sir, please tell your wife to relax. Everything is going to be okay.
That’s a man.
The phone operator thinking Cam as the "wife" will always be golden 😂😂
I used to always think that the Actor who played Cam was the gay one, not Mitch.
Of course Ty Burrell improved most of these scenes, he's just comedic genius. LOVE that he created the birth of the broken step moment. 😂
I love modern family. Lily is such an icon
Oh, definitely!
I loved Lily she was freaken funny
she is the PERFECT result of being raised by gay dads she's so sassy i love her
This show will forever be my comfort show, i go back to it almost every time i finish another show or whenever i’m feeling upset
❤️✨
His “That’s a man” knowing that’s unscripted is amazing

The egg drop was hilarious, but knowing it wasn't supposed to happen makes it even better. Well done to Julie Bowen for not breaking character.
Phil is so convincing that even I thought maybe wtf does mean "Why the face" and we all have been using it wrong all along
The filing cabinet hitting Chandler in the head never fails to make me laugh.

Claire's fall so smooth, luckily no injuries. I will broke a bone if it happened to me.
