Thank you for this most interesting video. I'm curious about how the ink stamp etc point to Mecca in relationship to the writer. Wouldn't this be entirely relative?
In the description it says, "Both the removable paper lock and the ink stamp on the address panel pointed to Mecca in relation to the letterlocker." So the person writing the letter would face in the closest direction facing towards Mecca to them, and tthen send the letter to the recipient, to whom it would probably not face Mecca.
Huh. Why would a lock be removable? is this something that happened mostly with ceremonial letters? I can see why that might be the case, since it's probably a bit less likely to be a forgery if you're having your representatives delivering it for a ceremony, but it does strike me as odd
