Then there's this almost 12 years old version that preserves all the emotion that the very first one gave, made by fans that must love Dir En Grey enough to pay such tribute. Mejibray just gave us a top version of cage. How is that Dir En Grey can be filled with SUCH amazing musicians and make such boring and hollow music...

Oh man, it took me a week to desensitize myself to Tsuzuku's vocal style (which I ended up loving). This is so...weird though. The vocals are all over the place, I just can't get over them. It's like he's trying to combine Kyo, Kyouki (Grieva), and his style all in one and it just doesn't come out well. I like everything about this song except Tsuzuku's vocals which sound weird to me. Sounds like he's constantly out of breath too.

Not impressed. I'm surprised as I really like Mejibray, but gotta be brutally honest with this cover. They change the rhythm a lot and try to make it complex, but the original is a simple, powerful melody that slowly builds up and climaxes (focus fire) in an immensely satisfying chorus. I don't get the sense of build-up and climax in Mejibray's version. Too much unnecessary flourishes here n there. Sometimes, less is more, IMHO.
+Valber Fidelis Tbh I think the drums sounds pretty good, if you take in mind meto (this drummer) has his own style, and had to do with what the original gave him (both drummers have completely different styles)
Laughing as I read all these hate comments because I honestly can't stand Diru and prefer the Mejibray version of this song over all of Diru's songs combined.

I mean, it's a great band, don't get me wrong, but this cover doesn't capture the emotion in the song, and the way they use the guitar in the beginning instead of even a piano, is bad. and the overdriven bass solo to the flange vocals is just horrible. all in all, 4/10 mint give it another try, but only if I have no access to dire
It's not the same emotion and the same way to use the guitar because it's a cover. You must adapt the song with your own style. I personnaly like this cover of the huge CAGE from DEG. Good job, Mejibray.
