Yeah... but, it would be kinda hard to make another Hollidate movie like the 1st one-- without having a traditional Happy ending-- to this Movie.. like getting Engaged or Married.
"Clueless parents' giving advice to their children - when they are 'clueless' themselves - works as a comedy/drama most of the time! Seems like the *best casting* here - hope the script's not predictable!
Well, the plot itself was predictable as soon as the two affairs were shown, but it still looks good! Honestly, though, from what I've seen I think this would be better on stage than on screen. Can't wait for the adaption (or to see the original if this IS the adaption).
This movie was one of the most amazing movies I've ever seen. At first I thought it would be a silly Romantic comedy. But after watching it I realised it was actually deep and filled with so many life lessons. Each couple deals with the problems that people face in today's society. There's the young couple. One wants to commit for the rest of her life and her partner fears that committing to her could change their lives the way his parents lives changed. He looks at his parents and sees how they dislike each other but due to marriage they stuck with each other. There's the parents of the girl. Their relationship has its own problems. The wife feels disconnected from her husband and wishes she could have more emotional intimacy. Then there's her husband who is blind to his wife's needs, wants and emotional desires. He himself has inner problems, he feels his life is nearly over and he hasn't accomplished enough. There's the third couple who happen to be the other set of parents. The wife is adventurous and wants to try new different things, whereas her husband lives in simplicity and shows love in soft ways and seeks love too. All 3 couples are portrayed with all their problems and solutions. This movie has so much too it. It's truly amazing how the characters were well developed. How the storyline has so much too it. And how our main characters show us how much we are affected by family. This movie is for those who seek more to themselves. Hopeless romantics and the opposite of hopeless romantics. It's beautiful and has so many beautiful meanings.
I love everything you had to say about this movie, I really think you nailed why it's so great. it's definitely one of my favorite movies I watched this year! there's so much nuance and love for every character in all their glorious faults. it felt like watching a movie about real people, for once.
This movie was so good and made me realize a lot about love, marriage and family relationships. Like I know it’s supposed to be a silly rom com but parts of it had me in literal tears. It has so many life lessons if you’re willing to watch and really focus on what they are saying / portraying. If you enjoyed this you’d probably also like the Hating Game :)
I loved seing Susan and Richard together on screen again! God how I loved Shall we Dance!!!! And Diane and William on the same cast? This is gonna be amazing!
I strongly suspect that there will be at least three alternative endings to this film in a few years from now. Anyway, I think I will see it, since is more original than the crap they play these days.
Wow this the first movie Keaton and Gere did in 45 years since Looking for Mr Goodbar. Even though that movie is old it was a powerhouse and was disturbing as hell.
Is it weird that I was surprised that was Susan Sarandon? I could have sworn from her voice, build, and general characterization that it was Kelly Bishop.
All my favorite actresses. I watched this more than 10 times. I'm watching while I'm eating , washing, manicuring etc.....Never get tired. I like it. And the theme song too.
Do we have a mirror? I don't mean seeing our love reflected in someone else's eyes, but being able to see the passion we've lost from the past to the present.
Reminds me of that horrible scraping sound when a ladle reaches the bottom of the barrel and there just isn't any more of anything in it.... but some one just keeps on scraping, and scraping, and scraping.
I wish Ella roberts would branch out of her typical genre of romance / comedy movies/series. I think she would be really good ina psychological thriller or horror

Sarandon, keaton, and Gere..seriously..what did this cost..lol..dont care..its my kind of movie..Emma Roberts may not have auntie julias looks..but damn she has become her..ha! Cant wait!
"Maybe I do" Given the culture these days, that sounds like it would be an accepted thing for a woman to say at the altar. And the minister would follow up with "Alright, I pronounce you, woman, and temporarily harvestable asset. Now, kiss your bride after signing this confirmation form noting her permission for you to enter her personal space. Would the witness please step forward and sign."
Another movie that mostly craps on marriage that say's "well, I guess so", but not without introducing the idea that it sucks. It doesn't btw. It's great to have a life partner. #10yearstogether
Review time... I think Movie has its moments.. but, it does Fall short-- in the storyline. 1.) The Beginning scene with Emma & Luke's characters seems to be Missing a scene; where, you get to see Why the couple are together to begin with.. Tho, it was probably done like that to "Show".. If, they were strangers.. would they still choose to be in a Relationship together.?. But, their scene seems to Just starts off with some A Random Weird Act of.. that doesn't really establish Why he would do that.. 🤷 Because, without any quick Background of the characters... The Audience has No Attachment to the Characters. Moreover, Emma & Luke's characters seems to be More of a Side Story-- instead, of the Main Focus point about-- "What marrying someone Should be about.. I don't really get why they ended up getting Married??? Also, Not sure really what Richard Gere character is about.. 🤔🤷 Susan S character is about (/wants) Passion.. (still a Solid Actress) And The other 2 Parent characters want /Value Companionship.. All I want to know is.. Did they ever make it to Tahiti?? xD So, The lesson of the movie seems to be.. I gave you the Best years of my Life.. What Do You Want From Me?? 🤣🤣😂 Also, the Coffee scene was a wtf moment.. 😳 what could position could her character (S.S.) have to call for that.. Once, again.. Not Enough info. 🤷 In the end, I think it deserves a 2nd watch & give it 6/10. Mainly, because it's nice to see them All these Actors in a movie together. :)
OMG really? My favorite was, "If you walk out that door I'm going to find a way to kill you and get away with it." I haven't even seen the movie yet and I laughed.
From this trailer alone, I’m unsure if Emma Roberts will have much of a comedic role to play in this film. Regardless, that is a mute point because I believe that the “parents” in this film, 4 HUGELY well known, well respected, and seasoned movie and TV starring actors, are going to be the shining stars🌟 of this film. In fact, I believe these 4 “A” list ✨stars✨, Richard Gere, Diane Keaton, Susan Sarandon, and William H. Macy, will be the actors who not only perform/provide the “com” (comedy) side in this “rom-com” (romance-comedy), but also will be the actors who will carry this film!🙌 Subsequently, I think Emma Roberts’ role will primarily consist of fulfilling the “rom” (romance) side of this rom-com film. She very well may have some comedic points throughout this film. However, I gathered from the trailer that her character is rather goal-oriented. And her goal right now seems to be nailing down Luke Bracey, or pressuring him into something that he isn’t ready for. Hence, after his buddy fills him in on the plan, we see Luke airborne, flying across the room to intercept this wedding bouquet💐 as if it were a football🏈 game and the quarterback has thrown a perfect spiral in the air and the game depends on whether or not you catch it. The irony there is that in that moment, Luke really believes his life depends on whether he catches the bouquet, or Emma does...😳😳...some people are really superstitious I guess??🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️ Emma says to Luke, “You’ve got one day to tell me we’re on the road to somewhere.” But let’s be honest here, she was bat-sh*t crazy mad that he interfered with that whole planned out, staged wedding bouquet💐 toss. So, if we’re being honest, the only road that she’s looking to be on with him...(?)... is the road to the jewelry store to pick out her engagement ring💍!!😂 That’s why she was set up to be the only unmarried woman capable of catching the wedding bouquet💐. All the other available, eligible, single women backed away from her on both sides; it looked like Moses parting the Red Sea. This action left her as the lone central woman and only likely recipient. We will have to wait and see, obviously🙄, if my assumptions are accurate and turn out to be true, partially true and false, or just way out in left field, meaning way off base, meaning completely wrong.😜
Dang I wished this was a sequel to that Hollidate
Haha me too
Close enough
Damn I thought it was

Thinking it was cheesy like that awful Clooney Roberts Hawaii mess but that line by Macy brought me all the way back in.
Well done!
looks like a 2000early movie and i like that
I think the plot of the parents is really interesting 😂 I'll watching it for that.
