Why we divide all by a??

It is procedure of making a Quadratic equation into perfect square
If you dojl not divide by a then the equation cannot be converted into perfect square

Its a process of making perfect square
In this process you have to make the coefficient of x^2 :- 1
Then you have to add and substract the square of half of coefficient of x
Then the equation we get at the very end is a perfect square
