This was a request from a member of guitarforhisglory.com. Thanks for the great suggestion. This was a challenging one. Not a lot of effects to hide behind, lol. Phil Wickham has helped us worship our Savior for a long time. In fact, my wife saw him back in her college days at a coffee shop. Paint me jealous! Oh, hero of Heaven, You conquered the grave You free every captive and break every chain Oh God, You have done great things We dance in Your freedom, awake and alive Oh Jesus, our Savior, Your name lifted high Oh God, You have done great things Amen!!!
That's cool Troy! And question, would you agree in saying that in the song the electric guitar sounds more like it has single coils or even more of a Strat sound then humbuckers? I am still trying to learn to hear things by ear and I have heard a couple of other people say that it sounds like a Strat(I play my Tele when I play the song personally), I was just wondering what you would say. By the way, love the video, you did an awesome job, and thanks in advance! I look up to you as a great teacher and example in guitar playing. Keep up the good work! 👍
Thanks for answering my request bro! Solid solid work. To answer your question: Taylor plays on this track and a couple other ones on the new album. God bless you and this ministry Troy!
Great job bro. The delay for the lead line is actually a dotted 8th fyi. I know because I have the multitracks and it’s pretty easy to hear when soloed. 🤘🏻
Sean Hebert Hmmm...agree to disagree I guess. LOL. I didn’t hear it that way. But it’s such a subtle delay (at least on the website Rehearsal Mix/Multritracks) that it doesn’t matter. Thank you for mentioning that!
Guitar for HIS Glory yeah I’m with you brotha! Sounds great either way. Main spot I hear it is the very last note in the intro. 🤷🏼♂️ isn’t RehearsalMix a dope tool? Killer job on this tutorial man. Really enjoy your channel. 👊🏻
Hey brother thank you and God Bless you for helping us all out there trying to learn. Quick question, I just got Lamertones pickups for my Strat. I did Crema on the bridge and triple play singles on middle and neck. I can split the bridge to single coil also. What position would you recommend for playing this song? Going through a Line 6 pod Thank you brother!!
Thanks for the video Troy. I would also say that you have contributed a lot to worship within the Guitar community and a lot of people really appreciate your channel, myself included. I do have a question though. What pick ups are you using on this guitar? I recently bought a Gibson less Paul, and was disappointed I did not like it as much as my Gretch. Have been able to get that clear bright chime, and without watching your video I would’ve sworn you were playing a strat or a telle just buy the sound.
Kade, I get a ton of requests. I chip away at the ones I feel I can do justice and are biblical. I looked at the lyrics to Champion. Seems like an awesome song. I’ll listen to it!
The point of this channel is to preach the gospel while offering song resources. Preaching requires talking. I also have a relationship with many of the folks out there, and this is a way for us to stay connected. Good thing there's fast forward option, Doug. 😜
Finkster Fitness yeah me too! That’s cool man! Looking at the CD insert right now it says he plays on Great Things, How Great Is Your Love, Song In My Soul, Eyes Fixed, and Christ Is Risen.
@@GuitarforHISGlory All he said was he didnt like the emo look & you responded to him with a mean & ugly comment. You call yourself a Christian? What an asshole!!!

Great video and great song. We don’t do this one but I’m planning to learn it anyway. Thanks again for your ministry Troy.
Thank you so much for posting. God bless

Nice. Ty
amazing
thanks for helping (:
@@wehttam240 Happy to help!
Taylor is on this album but not on all of the songs (for example Living Hope was Casey Moore). Taylor played on Great Things.
Thanks for the info!
Cool that you know that! Is there a source that you could point me too for that kind of stuff?
Hey Troy, I have enjoyed your videos and they have been outstanding resources for me. God bless you, mate. BTW, love the U of M shirt. Go Blue! :)
Go Blue!

Thanks man. Great work.
Glad it helped!
Sweet! 😎
Great vid. I like the way you add the effects and the delay settings. What amp were you running
I use two Kempers in stereo.
Guitar for HIS Glory thanks. What models were they based on

Hi there! There's parts that would benefit from neck, middle and bridge. Can't pin it down to just one position.

Hey there! I use Lambertones Cremas. Contact me if you want a slight discount. I have a code. 😃
can you share your delay ambient settings on the timeline ??
Josh Valdivia They’re in the packs found here: guitarforhisglory.com/product-category/strymon-presets/
Do you get a lot of requests? I'd love to get a playthrough and helix patch of Champion by Katie and Bryan Torwalt
Kade, I get a ton of requests. I chip away at the ones I feel I can do justice and are biblical.
I looked at the lyrics to Champion. Seems like an awesome song. I’ll listen to it!
You should do some of the new Mack Brock stuff
Yes. Yes I should.
Is there a helix patch of this?
Not yet, but there will be.
Great job, thanks, Might want to consider limited the talking at first - get right to the lesson

Why capo bro?
It’s nice to have the open strings on the bridge chords.
I don't play guitar but this is a well made video
Well, thank you. Do you trust Christ for salvation?
@@GuitarforHISGlory Yeah man! Had a great weekend video switching at church
I’m about 90% sure Taylor Johnson isn’t on this album. Kind of a bummer. The style is pretty much on point with what Taylor normally plays though
Finkster Fitness He is playing on a couple songs on this album. Check out the insert of the Living Hope CD.
Connor M. Oh sweet! I only have the digital version
Finkster Fitness yeah man! Sweet stuff. Another way to tell is to just look for the VB2 haha.
Connor M. Yeah man it’s all over the record. I literally aim for TJ’s tone every time I play

I like Phil, but he looks emo
And...?
