      Not sure if this may be why but did you have it on a higher weight? The higher the weight, the easier it will be to pull yourself up - unlike other machines.

    Do you maybe have tips for practicing chin ups with the Smith machine? My gym sadly doesn't have this machine.. but I've seen some people do variations on the smith machine! I'm too shy to ask them yet.. but maybe if you'd give me some tips I'll feel more confident to walk up to them (:

    Can you explain how much weight you would recommend for the assisted pull ups?

    • @sweetcreamnpeaches9577
      @sweetcreamnpeaches9577 3 роки тому +13

      Start at the highest weight (this is the easiest) and then just decrease the weight until it’s too difficult
      So for this machine
      More weight = easier to preform

    • @justynawisniewska1213

      It depends how strong your upper body is and how much you weigh. I am around 70 kg and I'm super weak. I did this exercise for the first time in a really long time setting it to 50kg on last workout so it means I was pulling up 70-50=20kg which is pretty pathetic but you gotta start somewhere. If you are doing the exercise for the first time ever you can start at a similar point as me so setting it to your body weight minus around 20 kilos. If it's too easy set it to a lower weight and try again, repeat until you can still do a few reps but it feels kinda hard to do.

    It kinda makes me depressed when the people I follow post gym videos. Where I live they've been closed since June and even before that. I've been working out but haven't seen any gains in like 7 months. I wish mine would open but I think the cases are getting worse. No hate to you. I would go to a gym as soon as they open too.
