Had a mostly refrigeration shop near my home as a teen, and this place carried Technics for some reason along w/ parent co. Panasonic... my brother and I never saw anyone buy hi-fi anything there except us. We got dirt cheap original Technics cd players, turntables, receivers and cassette decks, and guess what, WE STILL HAVE THEM!!! Oh, we did buy 1 panasonic item(s), their TV's - Panasonic made a heavy duty TV made w/ real wood and a huge screen 28 inches...LoL. It was the 80's ya know. Anyway, as fine a brand for the money especially, TECHNICS, by Panasonic.
Lol must be a pretty strong tuner then. My Sony ST-SDE700 as lovely as it looks matching with my full system from 2001 can't even pick it up sometimes and it's my local station...
I have a Technics stacking system, but only with an FM/AM tuner. Id love one with a DAB+ tuner, but as far as I know, Technics are no longer in production.
@@zetecfiesta in Belgium, everything switched to DAB+ ... A pity because I am a hugh Technics fan and I would immediately buy this one ... but I fear this device is not DAB+ compatible :(
No offense but i have been into Technics and Panasonic products to over 30 years.I used dbx because it reduced tape hiss by 30 db and extended dynamic range to 110 db.The 965 was the last and best deck made by Technics.I have seen many on here and not a single person sets the levels right.when using dbx, levels should be set at 8db on a chrome tape 12db on a metal tape.I should know I have an actual owners manual for the 905.these decks don't need modified.
lghaze42 you would get torn apart on tapehead forums everyone mods their technics decks, the opamps in them have been well superseded by better newer ones. Same with the 4066 switching ic's. Decent deck + decent tape = nr not needed. Also using no nr gives your greater flexibility going from deck to deck
i sold it now, i never listened to it (uk radio full of ads, and just repeat the same music over and over) i also got an older amp so it didn't match in my system no more
would you ever consider selling one? I have the 905 but the dbx does'nt work.It plays dbx tapes well, but if you record one of the channels is low and pumps.
Hi Technics Guy! I have a CD audio, turntable and a receiver, and I want that my CD audio and turntable work with my equalizer. How can I connect these cables to my receiver? Any video or advice? Thanks!
Thanks! I already got it, and it does not say anything about CD audio or Turntable. The manual just says how to connect the Tape deck to equalizer and amplifier. I have a Receiver and my equalizer is SH-GE70.
no not selling one but i wouldn't bother anyway, get a rs-bx808/828 its simpler and easier to upgrade... or get a 765 single capstan will give less headaches no belts... forget about dbx and noise reduction with a modified deck you will never need it again. just buy decent tapes like tdk-sa or sa-x, i never ever record with any NR anymore dont need it plus it reuins the sound. decent deck and tape, no nr needed
Thanks, old tech that has a DAB+ compatibility as DAB already died. This makes this valuable and probably worth buying on Ebay.
Never knew Technics made such a huge tuner.Don't listen to the radio much but would love to have one.

Wow no way! I also live in Doncaster, recognised Doncaster as my local area with the Trax FM station.

hi which antenna did you use, i have no signal at all with these gt1000
I wonder it Technics still exist.
I thought DAB was long gone and replaced by DAB+. Do you still have some old stations in UK?
MacPhantom hi uk currently have no plans to switch over to dab+
I'm sure it would anger a lot of people if they did
Alright, good to know! In Switzerland for instance DAB stations have long gone, everything's on DAB+ now (and, luckily, analog FM).
MacPhantom dab is scandalous most of the stations broadcast in mono

He is showing (letting us listen to) DAB+ Radio frequencies, this is a remarkable issue for a device this old.

seen very few DAB+ tuners in UK most are just DAB. even the midi hifis are. but most new portables are dab+

BTW..Do you have an RS-B965 deck?
Yeh I have 2 of them and an RS-BX808 plus a few others
would you ever consider selling one? I have the 905 but the dbx does'nt work.It plays dbx tapes well, but if you record one of the channels is low and pumps.

I have for sale RS-B965 and RS-B828 with remote control. Please send me your message on my Skype: OPTICSLINK for the contact with me.
Please stop sitting components on the amp.It needs ventilation or will over heat.
its not sat on the amp, its sat on the pre-amp, and the main amp is designed to take the wait of the preamp on top both weight and cooling
