I just did one but I had the unique situation where the speedo was broken, handlebar switch was broken, and the reverse lockout was broken as was the override button, I eliminated the entire system and just ran hot to a lighted rocker switch then to the coils. It’s a 24 year old bike, not putting hundreds of dollars in parts in it. The sportsman seems to have an on demand type system where the front does nothing until back slips, this can cause it to engage in reverse if you are turning sharp enough otherwise it seems to work perfectly.

It's 9:15pm Monday, my problem is the wires got pulled out of the switch on the handle bars. So I wanted to bypass it . On my 09 800HO sportsman.
