So SERRNE... and the view of the Table Mountain is very lovely. The hotel luxury and interior design is typical 5-star-hotel standard.
5:06 - that has to be one of the most beautiful bars I've ever seen anywhere. The aggregate visual presentation (sunken in bar, buildings, trees, then mountain above it all) is absolute perfection.

My partner and I stayed at the One & Only Capetown a few years ago and loved it. Spectacular views of Table Mountain and great location within walking distance to restaurants. Excellent service, well appointed and comfortable rooms ... luxury but without the stuffy pretention found in other so called luxury hotels.

Great video, Franschhoek about an hour away from Cape Town is also a great place with great hotels and wine farms.

We stayed here maybe 8 years ago in a island suite. Was truly stunning and huge. The grounds look so amazing. A lot bushier than when we were there. The pool area was so serene. Breakfast was amazing. Funny you posted this. We stayed at the Burj Al Arab in Dubai last year and we were saying how much we preferred the atmosphere of the One and Only. All the big boats have gone from the back of the hotel? There were quite a few tied up when we were there. The marina, shops and restaurants just down the road were terrific. And HOHO bus to see the sites just near there too for sight seeing. Was just brilliant before heading out to Stellenbosch for a wedding. And a safari in Sabi Sands. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in SA. Thank you for sharing and bringing back wonderful memories.

Fabulous hotel - been there many times. Floor 5 rooms for the best view of Table Mountain. Expensive though. Great video but where is everyone! Must have taken much of the footage very early in the morning!

Still remember the smell in the air….was a unique fragrance created by Charlotte Rhys if I remember correctly.
Stayed in the island suite and it was a lot less foresty then.
Was about 10 years ago though.

Quite pleasant, and the food looked good !! I like the stone walls around the pool area and tge palms. There are only a few things I'm not a fan of ... the bathtub, the gallery presentation, and the spa. What is the story they tell about the flat topped mountain, dear LTE?? Why is this your favorite city? I mean, besides having lived there for a bit? Thank you, sir.
We stayed at the Mt. Nelson but regretted not staying here. This hotel is in a really nice area not far from the mall.
May I ask, what makes cape town so special for you?( I have yet to go but it’s on the list)

There is another Nobu in Morocco and it’s own hotel which is the only one in Africa nonetheless this is also very stunning 😍

Recently watched a video about crime in Cape Town. However beautiful this resort is - Cape Town is one of the most dangerous extreamly violent cities in the world.
In South Africa safety really depends on the area. In the Atlantic seaboard and southern suburbs of Cape Town, you won’t experience any crime.

Anyone who makes assumptions about the world through social media needs to switch off their device. There are places in New York, Boston and LA I wouldn't dare step my foot on because of crime. It is the same with Cape Town as it is a big city thus you need to know exactly what areas you should visit as a tourist or local. When I am in New York I know not to go to East Harlem or Hunts Point but I know that I will be perfectly fine just walking in the Upper East Side or Tribeca. In Cape Town you are okay just roaming in Clifton and Campsbay, Sea Point or Constatia but I know not to step foot in the Cape Flats. It is called common sense in maneuvering any big city on the face of earth. This propaganda they are trying to push on all of you is getting old now.

Nice video. But the hotel is a real let down. It’s not remotely as good as the other O&O locations. Something is missing - I’ll be interested to see the renovation in person but based on your video nothing huge seems to have changed. Staffing quality has always been a massive problem here too and I always feel the entrance is too visible security wise coming / going to the v&A. The Queen Victoria hotel close by is a much smaller hotel, with arguably much better levels of service and way more privacy. As a positive - food is good here. But it’s a good destination for a lunch or dinner imo - definitely not to stay.

The portion sizes at luxury restaurants is ridiculously small. Who can genuinely feel full after eating those tiny over priced portions 😂:

You won't encounter them. There are very few if any snakes in disturbed areas like cities (nothing for them to eat), and even elsewhere snakes avoid people. Even if they are there you will very seldom see them.

Despite the magnificent backdrop of Table Mountain, this has to be one of the least inspiring places you have visited. No smiles, no laughter. Decor is only half the story.
