you can not translate names. Hay Ibn Yaqthan can not be translated into Alive Son of the Awake. This is one of the flaws in modern bibles. If someone's name is Mohammad, you can not call him The Praised One!
While, as a multilingual speaker, I agree with you to a degree, you cannot leave it untranslated either since, in this case, it's tied to the story and meant to be allegorical. In fact, I hold the opposite view to yours and would say that all the names that are critically important to understanding a book, should be parenthetically translated. Any translation, however silly it may sound in rendition, will make complete sense given proper frame of reference.
Transcended aspirations are born through the thinking of society and culture as far as anyone is concerned if a human was left to their own devices they would simply find the best way for them to survive. Chances are procreative instincts will eventually kick in and this so called human might even mate with an animal. All of this Transcendental talk is nothing but nonsense.

It's not the name of a REAL figure. It is a figurative name, so it makes complete sense to translate it.
