I'm sick of people describing super hearing abilities as though they were a constant, super hearing is just like any other power which needs to be activated it's like a muscle of you could bench we 350lbs your muscles would probably be fully contracted but they wouldn't be if you were just holding a cup super hearing like other abilities needs to be activated or at least a conscious effort to use it but in Homelander's case he can hear alot all the time so like Spiderman he probably tunes everything out and focuses on what he needs to or wants

The reason why Maeve can hold her own against Homelander is she actually has fight training. Homelander just tries to brute force fighting.
Quite a few big guys are actually terrible fighters because they have never had to use technique. Their mass or muscle does most of the work for them. Maeve is totally outclassed in terms of pure strength, but her technique is vastly better than Homelander's.

I think Homelander making Ashley take off her wig stands out to so many people, because it isn't excessively violent and doesn't serve any real purpose. He's doing it for the sole purpose of humiliating her, it's the moment that reveals clear as day Homelander is just a school yard bully. Taking out his frustrations on other people, also like the Milkshake scene with A-Train

@@DamianLamier it's what I said to my sister who wasn't interested in watching GenV. There is gonna be two characters and one plot point you're gonna feel like it's coming out of nowhere but it won't stop you from enjoying and understanding the fourth season.
only the end of the first episode was interesting, all that fight, I'm on 4th episode and still nothing interesting so far

He specifically said that if you are arguing with a woman and she will not stop, and you have tried all other avenues, then it's acceptable to slap them to end the argument. It's still a horrible philosophy (and indeed a crime), but not quite as revolting as many people made out.
@@theaikidoka I mean it's still assault, so it is pretty revolting. The best thing to do is just walk away from the argument. If you can't stop it with words, a slap isn't going to achieve anything simply walking away won't. Just one isn't assault.
The important thing to take away from his stupidity back then is you shouldn't slap anyone in an argument... just walk away. It's only ego that would lead someone into doing that (refusing to not have the last action)

That first episode is one of my favs. With Butcher's brother trauma and Noir's stunted and delusional memories, we get to see some amazing insight on characters who are not a fan of talking about themselves.
The title comes from the English nursery rhyme Oranges and Lemons, which goes like this: "Oranges and lemons say the bells of St. Clement's.

St. Clement's, Old Bailey etc. refer to Churches in London. The sinister last line may refer to public executions that used to take place in front of these churches. Queen Maeve is one of my favorite characters on the show so it’s sad to see her go, but I’m glad she got a happy ending
hope she remembers Ryan, and how Homelander made a supe kid WITHOUT V. his simple logic is his supe kids can happen, just WITH HIM.
I would wager it is a DNA thing. The V worked on Kimiko and her brother, so I am wondering if normal humans have a 'mutant' gene that allows adults to survive the injection. Becca may have had that gene, and it was what allowed her to have a baby with Homelander.

Very Important: Before you watch season 4, watch the first season of Gen V. Season 4 of The Boys heavily references events from Gen V. It also introduces characters who will be in season 4, and it gives some insight into a couple of The Boys characters. You CAN watch season 4 without watching Gen V, but you'll understand all the events better if you watch Gen V first.
Yes, Todd had that punch coming, but I don't think that's why Monique screamed at him. She saw him hit Todd and wanted to make sure it stopped there. M.M. DOES have anger issues, right?? I think Monique was afraid he'd lose it and KILL Todd, so she screamed him name to stop him; not to admonish him. That's what I think anyway.

There's like three different Soldier Boys in the comic. The original (who Jensen Ackles' character is supposed to be) was killed in WW2 by Mallory after SB and his team got Mallory's squad killed (in a scene similar to that where he's neutralized and handed over to the Russians). The other Soldier Boys are legacy characters Vought has used to keep the brand alive.

This now makes Butcher's comment to Gunpowder make a lot more sense when Butcher says Gunpowder had to fuck Soldier Boy in order to join Payback. They just took Soldier Boy's story in the comic and put him on the other side of it.

I don’t know how it holds with your viewing algorithm but if you are digging these comic book shows and stuff along the lines.. You should totally give Smallville a try(it’s on Hulu). The origin story of Superman as Clark Kent learning to find his place in the world.
Smallville is by far one of the best things in the DC/Marvel universe. Some of the absolute best casting calls for characters ever in the comic book universe. It’s a long show though..

As a non native english speaker, it took me a minute to make out "I beat my meat to a cup" haha.
I think the show underutilizes how terrifying the deep really is, he can literally just gnab you with his reflexes and strength, then swim to the deepest part of the ocean and have you implode from the ocean depth's pressure and have a horribly painful death
That The Deep has been to the bottom of the Mariana Trench implies he's incredibly tough as well. Thankfully, he's an idiot 😅
You'd drown long before the pressure got to you, unless the Deep can move like a supercavitating torpedo.
V does make Maeve a supe, but it bonds very well with her DNA. Maeve is probably the physically strongest female supe so far. That base strength would make for a powerful combination with Homelander (or Billy Butcher) in a double super enabled child.

It's both. He's accepting that he's the Non-Action Guy, but that does not make him "weak" or "useless." His skills work best in a support role, but without support, the structure cannot stand. Equal partners does not always mean "I can do anything and everything you can do." Mostly, actually the opposite. . . I shore up your weaknesses, you shore up mine, and together we're a whole greater than the sum of its parts.

It's a good character journey, understanding that his strengths not being everyone else's strengths is okay, that he's still useful and contributes, and that he doesn't have to measure himself against what he can't do. He should instead measure himself against what he can.

Better Call Saul?
I have a theory that Maeve is pregnant with Butcher's child, and that child is double super enabled (V and V24). Such a child could be stronger than Ryan or Homelander. It will be raised on a farm by Meava and Elena (like Smallville, Superman). I believe Maeve's womb protected it from Soldier Boy's blast and it will be trained by one of the best fighters on The Seven. Homelander always wanted a child with Maeve, so this would be Karma.
Unlikely, but I like this theory!
It's ok to feel bad for Homelander. He's irredeemable, but he's also a victim of so many things.

The fact that we never saw Black Noir facing Soldier Boy and having a good fight against him is one of the things that I hate the most about this season. Noir deserved a better end after that build up with Soldier Boy.

Homelander has valid reasons to believe that his children with Mave would be very strong. SPOILERS next...
I hate to say it because it means that Butcher and Homelander are similar down to their DNA but it does have to do with the powers that the v compound gives you, soldier boy is the strongest and longest-lived of his generation of v consumers along with liberty but Not everyone who took the original v is the same, the serum was purer and better before, but as far as we know in the world of the series, not much more than a little more strength and giving you delayed aging or immortality (but you can die, just not of aging) that is why Homelander does age even though they are giving him extra v from the egg, apart from that the series has been consistent in saying that powers are not chosen, people with a blood relationship have similar powers constantly although not the same soldier boy and homelander and ryan, hughie and his father seem to have powers that are not very strong but excellent in escape, and victorianewman although it is only a theory but it may be related in some way to a gen v character
