There are so many directors out there....just because THIS old guy just likes to criticize Shen Yue, doesn't mean she is a bad actress. Plus in reality, when they are actually filming in real life, there is a director there at all times correcting them and telling them what they want..He is being unfairly harsh. He complains about the light and shadows on their faces...that's not her fault, they obviously needed to light up the set more...... She's filmed 13 series and 3 movies since 2017, and more lined up, so she must be doing something right...plus she is loved by many fans....And another thing, if the actors did the scenes perfectly the first time, why bother with a director in the first place ? That old guy would be out of a job ! lol

Although we need criticism at times but doing it this harshly and without any base can affect one's self esteem and confidence. I hope Shen Yue comes out strong regardless of all these things!! To not allow yourself to be in touch with your emotions or let them show is shockingly terrible advice to give someone, particularly to an actress. If she’s not hurting anyone with the emotions she’s externalising (eg: anger and lashing out would be bad) there’s no issue. The only person with emotion regulation issues here is the old guy for allowing his “annoyance” (at seeing people be upset) to manifest in harsh words and hurting others. Even if she was tearing up due to feeling bad about her performance that’s valid, and she wasn’t wasting anyone’s time or hurting anyone by showing it on her face. Why be a dick?
