'BOOM'. My favorite character from CSI: NY is Stella Bonasera. She is a spirited lady who cares about her colleagues like Mac. Sometimes she can also be quite fierce about certain things. Or before you know it you are drinking coffee with her and suddenly an eyeball falls in her coffee and she is cursing in Greek. But she can also be just a pit bull when she bites into certain things, sometimes causing herself problems like the case surrounding an old Greek coin.
Oh yes, Stella is a wonderful character: gorgeous, sassy, classy, and courageous. She and Mac have clashed at times but the show proves they respect and admire each other, offering a shoulder to lean on. She did some dangerous things with the stolen Greek artifacts but it was something personal to her and she wouldn't shake it off. You could tell Mac was concerned for her and at first tried to stop her, then helped her see it through to the end. The eyeball in her coffee was a moment I went, "eww!" and then they just roll with the punches, as New Yorkers do. I lived in NY for over 10 years so can confirm this.
