- In the Partnership Explorations course at Landmark, we've been reading Michel Foucault's "The Order of Things". It's challenging reading. I've saved you the trouble, with this musical summary.
On the chili pepper uke in honor of the SPICE Team (Special Partnership Inquiry Coursework Explorers).
And ... it's an almost perfect twofer ... for Season 654 of the Ukulele, CHANGES! There is no more seismic change than that from one episteme to the next.

And for Season 653 of the Ukulele, 1967, the Summer of Love. Michelle is from 1965, "The Order of Things" from 1966, but they would both have still been popular in '67. Close enough?

"Michel did well"! 😄👍👍👍And so did you! What a great way to understand and internalize difficult content!
@@alisazingerman4631 Thanks, Alisa! So fun to see you here on my UA-cam channel. I had fun with this.
Thank you for trying to make sense of the mystery of The Order Of Things.
@@lancer824 Thanks, Lance! Does the song help, do you think? This is a first draft, so feel free to offer suggestions to improve it!
excellent, such a fun way to interpret this book :)
@@HelenIreland-t1u Thanks, Helen! I had fun doing it. I've enjoyed reading it with you and Rose. 💕
I think I am now more confused but I enjoyed your song. Thanks!
@@lizsaniga5168 Thanks, Liz, and congrats on your upcoming Big Change! It has taken me many many hours of reading and book discussions to be able to even try to put this into a song ... so I think this might be as clear as it gets!
very nice playing and vocals on this one. it's a toughie! then you add the challenging lyricsl subject matter! very nice, Wendy!!
@@hands_on_lanzon Thanks, Chris! It took a while to learn the chords ... and then I took some liberties with the structure of "Michelle" to assemble my parody ... which made it even a bit more complicated. It's a work in progress. I have an idea to do this for the rest of the books in the course as well ... so I may refine this one later on.
Cool! Just the kind of thing we've come to expect from Wendy.
Thanks, Jim! I "did a Wendy"? 😅
Oh boy, what a twisted web we weave when we talk about epistemology. Trying to understand words about understanding the world, which has to be done by… writing more words. And then singing about all of that!
@@Debordlaughs Thanks, Bob! You really captured it in your comment. Reading the book, I distinguished that part of what's so hard about reading it, is that he's attempting to lay out the world of thinking in two previous epistemes ... and we literally do not have the capacity to think that way! It really breaks my modern brain, trying to grok how thinkers thought inside the Renaissance way of thinking. It's very hard (impossible?) to talk about a different model of thinking from inside the model we're in. Which is kind of the point of the Partnership Explorations course we're in - we're inquiring into how to speak and think inside the next episteme after this one!
Wonderful Chris. You almost turned your ukulele into a mandolin at the start of the tune.
Jim, was this comment meant for someone else's video?
@@UkeCan1the dreaded playlist comment after the last video ended 😅 I got it re-posted on my vid.
@@hands_on_lanzon 😆
Epistemology without enough cowbell is always confusing.
@@kensmith5694 I did look up "rhymes with Michelle" ... and did note that your favorite instrument was on the list.
