- This was due to be released on Grooverider's 'Prototype' label in around 1996/97.

It would have been PRO006 but was shelved for whatever reason. The a-side was supposed to be 'One Nation', which was eventually released years later on the Photek Album 'Form & Function Vol II'
It is not the same Photek track of the same name that was released in 1994 on Entity Records.
Hope that when Rupert (Photek) looks back to his past productions like this gem, he realizes he did something ambitious and avant-garde. The influence he had and continues to have on the scene is tremendous. I believe this music still can be considered as futuristic today. I do not ask him to brag about it. I ask him to acknowledge (if he reads this lines).
This tune is all the things.....edits, variation, long bassline phrases, a "plot", flanged amens, bongos, atmosphere, descending basslines and it's thrilling. yes yes yes yes yes yes YES
Beats SD in this one, perhaps singlehandedly…
@@all.the.same.iProductions True having said that he pretty much mentored those guys.
Rupert is the undisputed leader in drum edits who didn't always rely on an Amen break to make his tracks intresting.
Wow Photek created some absolute masterpieces
That Hi pass filter @ 3:31 is just so good. Biggest bass in the bin.
It's actually not a highpass filter. It's natural phase by playing two copies of the same break and playing them within a millisecond of each other. It was a widespread technique on Akai samplers back in the day. Phase tends to remove some frequencies.
The drums are on fucking point
Still banging 2018
never stopped!!!! booooom
Still bangin' in 2022
Still banging 2024 👊🔥🔥🔥
'Just to' Say It IS immense.👍
Nice use of the FSOL cascade sample
Masterpiece.
On a journey without even moving.
THANK YOU!!!! Turnz remade the 95 version too on his sound cloud ready for download, he's done a cracking job of a remake
The version Turnz did is a different "Say It". It gets confusing but the Turnz remake is a mashup of "Mind Games" and "Say It" > this was released by Photek in 1994 under his "System X" alias.
This "Say It" (in the video) is a separate tune all together.
that flanged amens
Comb filtered.
I was fortunate enough to be on the circuit when this landed. Photek always put shift in. If I remember correctly there were only 40 copies printed due to copyright. Can anyone confirm?
20 copies
Love it 🔥
Niort ?
Those panned effect amens are the business
This sounds tight.
Heat 🔥
photek at his creative break chopping in tribal soundscape peak no less - miles ahead of the lacklustre one nation
Behave.. lack lustre ? One nation is a fucking incredible tune imho.. Well ahead. Both great tunes.
@@Phix75 well said
Christ? One Nation lacklustre?!
I get what hes saying. This tune in comparison is much more of a journey, and feels more technically involved than one nation
that boom bass yo
Fuck fine, running master class. And yes I would part with my left bollock for a copy of this.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Just sold on eBay for 104 pounds I was outbid at the final half second totally gutted 😔
There are wav rips of it floating about , why would you want to pay 104 pounds for an old dubplate ?
+Ben lavis Perhaps he needs to justify his expensive turntable and likes watching some plastic spinning?
Wow... I know of a chap who flew to Australia from London in order to get a copy. Dedication lol
@@danielsurlis2244 haha thats not what happened at all, i was there
@@danielsurlis2244 hahaha!!
Amen pressure.
3:30 👌
yep, that works
Another banger ,what you expect from photek
anyone got or know of prototype 1st release , with bruce lee , they call it the art of fighting sample ? code name jon maybe ? help!!!
Does anyone know of this a Test pressing or Promo?
Is one side a white label and the flip the prototype logo label?
Also where did the ‘Say It’ track name come from was it penned onto the copies.
Cause to me this tune is a stand alone track and not a remix of System X - Say It from 94.
One Nation can easily be assumed as the track name or referred to as because of its obvious spoken sample.
I can’t hear any Say It vocal in this track
Or any of the Loleatta Holloway - Love sensation samples
Say It To Me, Feel Me , Run to me , yeah yeah etc
Did people assume it was another remix of System X - Say It ?
Test pressing. I used to have a mint condition one stored at my place for a friend, who was given one at the time but never played it. Track titles were written on the sleeve in biro rather than on the record
....still hot 😛
This wa never actually released due to sample clearance amirite?
rofl
@@MemoryLaneCinema why’s that funny you pointless troll? This track along with the other side were never formally released due to sampling issues. Sorry for knowing my shit. Also stop stalking me you weirdo
@@albert341 from one MacDonald to another, I appreciate your knowledge 👊🏼
Pretty juicy
Perfect. Rupert’s works can easily outshine that of the SD boys…
It's not a competition, I love both of them.
He basically mentored S.D. , they were both in St Albans Herts at the time and knew each other so you see where they got there inspiration.
