I belong from OBC but I have faced such discrimination not as castesim but have faced abuses derogatory remarks because of being Bihari from my own subordinate who was brahmin. But soon I showed him his position.

He has been the chairman of National commission for scheduled caste. In june 2011 there was a case, in Orissa, ranpada village, there was a temple were once 3 students came to take blessing but they were expelled from there because they were Dalit. Dailits were punished and they were not given any work in the village. A board was fixed in the temple stating that Dalits were not allowed to enter the temple

• In Andra Pradesh they have to work inside while making a house, but once the house is built and painted they are not allowed inside the house just because they are Dalits.
When some people went near the river to wash carrots, the people their shouted at them and said someone must die for this, they threw logs, bricks, stones and bottles at their house. Dalits are buried separately, kept separately segregated in all thing

I am from ST caste from a city area, I dated a girl from a village, we were going good in my school days. Suddenly one day the girl asked me about my caste, till then I didn't know much casteism as we were all equal in city area. That day I got to know about caste, she left me because of my caste. Today after 10 years I am working as a manager in a reputed MNC and she is a housewife and her husband is a peon ( though I respect every professional). I wonder what she got by being concerned about caste and not individual's potential.
