The Canadian one piece tanks have a fixed neck which is prone to cracking at the union between the neck and the tank. When shipping these to clients, the cost of shipping is prohibitive because of that protruding neck. And installation of the two piece neck is far easier. We do keep some one piece tanks for people working on concours restorations.

Always use a “gas line wrench” to avoid deforming nut!

Makes sense. I had heard it was to do with baffles or lack of them in some tanks. Good info on the connections etc. Thanks.
