Your answer to the last question is profound! You absolutely nailed it! Social media has completely changed who we engage with and how we engage with that person!
That was great how anish described how social media shapes you . Online persona is completely different from offline. Noone talks like that in real life or make allegations on your face. People have become very comfortable with all the trolling and stuff on social media
One has to develop a thick skin cause social media is a massive platform that allows people to put across their views (howsoever unnecessary, brutal and crass the views maybe!). Its like when you have sign up for any social media and you are a public figure you are basically inviting others to judge you for everything you do and you don't do! Trolling is a given...
okay this content cant get anybetter than this. AG and VD walking together, sagar sir walking backwards with great camera work ,high audio quality, good background and meaningful convos regarding actual problems and question were very diverse .. can wait for more sagar sir .. the dedication is immeasurable
Watched the whole ama. But the most amazing thing that strikes me is Sagar managing to walk backwards for 35 minutes straight. The things he does for chess. Only bcoz of him we can somewhat see the world rapid and blitz otherwise fide won't do that. He should get the creator of the year award. Hats off to you sagar bhai.
I'm loving VD's confidence. He finally is exuding that 'i am him' energy and you can see it in his results too. So happy for him

The Anish Vidit bromance is really heartwarming. These two are genuine friends on a high level. The chess community is unique in that such stuff becomes visible. That's Sagar's merit also to some extent. But probaly also due to the fact that really smart people come together in the chess world. Let's hope Anish' critical remarks on Social Media were spontaneous and not prearranged just to promote Wildr. It's deep stuff and I doubt solutions will come from more algorithms. It's not enough to say "toxicity no!". You have to be totally transparent on how that lofty goal is to be achieved. What are the algorithms, who controls them.
Friendship like this is irreplaceable ❤❤ I love how they make fun of each other and also appreciate each other 😊 big fan of both anish and vidit although my Goat 🐐 is Magnus
Really interesting format for an interview, open and scenic place, the players casually walking and having a productive discussion, even the sound of air in the background. Very refreshing. Want more of this.
Truly one of the best AMA videos. I like they that think deeply about each question and seem to give an answer that they genuinely seem to believe in. Yet, it is easy going and doesn't have a pretentious air for a bit. Always love the easy camaraderie between these two and Sagar. The beautiful backdrop is an icing on the cake. Love and good wishes for the tournament Anish and Vidit! 💛
This discussion was amazing! Thank you AG and VD for giving us a small glimpse into your meaningful thoughts that we can all learn from and Sagar for creating a comfortable space for them to do so and sharing it in such a beautiful way. There were so many little nuggets of wisdom but appreciated AG's talk on social media the most. Its something everyone needs to listen to and truly reflect on so that we can create a more progressive, kinder and rational online world.
Anish didn’t mention the game against Shankland when Shankland resigned in a drawn position and Giri maintained a straight face and asked Shankland if he is resigning though he knew it’s a draw.
I'm amazed, other than that one car, that there was absolutely no one else around! What a great place to do a Q&A. Love the format and watched the whole thing - great segment!
I learned chess in january 2023 and today december 2023 ,i am 1550 rapid and 1300 in blitz.all this is achieved by learning only 2 openings.i have no intentions of playing at higher level and engage myself more in chess by practicing and learning theory.all the chess i know comes very natural to my style. I know , i can only reach maximum 1800 without applying myself but still i will be better than 95 % players. So i would say ,people should play to improve and most importantly to enjoy. LOTS OF LOVE TO SAGAR SHAH
Great to see such camraderie, especially between two top level rivals! Kudos to Sagar for thinking offbeat in conducting such engaging dialogues around chess to entertain & educate the audience by kicking it off from Isle of Man👏
What an interview. VD and AG pairing is unmatched in a Video❣ Sagar Moonwalking throughout the video and also an Amazing Location. The Location just oozed peace and calmness needed for a casual evening walk with your buddies!
I am at the first question now, and both are right... and in a way they are both wrong... life is not about being the greatest or even great, nor it's about being happy... life is about experiencing. Of course we all want to experience great things and happiness, but we would not even know what that means if we didn't also experience the opposite side. In short, life is about relativity, embrace it, and enjoy it ;)
Vidit is so adorable. His aura emanates radiance, peace, and calm. He always seems really grounded and thoughtful in his answers. He doesn't need a lot of time or words to get across really insightful points. I suppose this message is just a long way of saying that... Yes, Vidit, I accept your proposal for marriage.
Excellent interview format. I very much like Vidit Gujrathi's concentrated, mature and self-reflected responses. When this guy speaks, I listen because I feel he has a message. In contrast, Anish Giri was speaking a lot of words, with very few substance in the end. In particular, I was disappointed with Giri's statements wrt work-life balance and keeping self-reflected about life with its many options. Also, Giri clearly lost trail with his lengthy "filibuster" on social media, until he was reminded by Gujrathi what the question was about (the "Kramnik case").
i think Anish decided to do both things at the same time Family and Top Level Chess.. Vidit on the other hand is betting all on Chess.. and will probably try the family thing later in life. I would say that the best way is Vidit's because you can go 100% ALL IN on chess, lets say realistically up until 35-37 (if you are not champion by 35 , chances are you will never be right) then semiretire and go and get married, have kids, you still young.
The reason I stopped watching Levitov Chess is exactly this - it turned into chips, and 5 packs in a row is not good for you. Keep doing a great job, Sagar - your content is always top notch, and it's great to see how your channel has been growing with this.
Post your questions for Vidit and Anish. They will be answering them throughout the event: wildr.com/post/S68H
Vidit x samay , why samay stop posting video on youtube?
Why are they not freezing? It's winter and they are in the North.
😊 32:23 😊😊
Yes, Sagar was walking backwards the whole time.
Thankyou Anish for this BTS 👍
The camera work was off the charts
This is the most important thing I wanted to know from this video. Thanks! AG to the rescue 🔥
Anish I'm pretty sure your parents are proud of you. Let's push for the Candidates and WC. Cheers from Brasil.
Your answer to the last question is profound! You absolutely nailed it! Social media has completely changed who we engage with and how we engage with that person!
Just 2 grandpas on a morning walk talking about life! Amazing!
And those grandpas are just 29 😮

And I am thinking to answer first question of AMA, they walked for almost 1km.. thinking of the total distance they walked together. 😮😮
This is indeed The most amazing AMA (Ask me Anything) of Anish and Vidit
Great itw, we need more of this, but please do something about the sound...

and vidit lost one of the most heartbreaking games , I hope he doesn;t quit chess.
Anish listens to everything so patiently.
When anish said to vd that he was there for him and vidit said yeah
Anish was happy about it cute
Vidit and anish is 29 years old. when i saw vidit's age, i am fully surprised. I think that vidit is 19 or 20 something
5:15 huge respect for Vidit for keeping the meme alive 😂
Last question - Sagar hoping he stops walking backward and AG speaks for 10 min til they reach destination lmao 😂
You literally started the video at daylight and ended it at night
They're actually two professional comedians who happen to be really good at chess.
Fantastic interview.
