      @@walmos New Wales is New Wales in MANCHESTER, most definitely not Mandeville. Mandeville is the capital of Manchester. New Wales cannot be Mandeville and New Wales at the same time. Anywhere beyond Northern Caribbean University is outside of Mandeville. You left another country to come and tell me about where I grew up?? NOT possible!!! Learn from an expert.

    • @walmos
      @walmos  3 роки тому +6

      @@alkalinelifestyle638 You are right about New Wales being part of Manchester just as New Port is. Both are in the outskirts of Mandeville town. You are very right about that, however culturally as well let’s acknowledge something ; if you ask someone who is living in those areas; “where do you live?” And they live in Cedar Grove, Hill Side, Knockpatrick, etc. the answer will certainly be “ Mandeville “ or will say Knockpatrick, Mandeville Manchester just to give an example.
      They should say Cedar Grove or Knockpatrick Manchester as this is the parish but the culture keeps referencing Mandeville as the major town so that everyone knows which place they are talking about. Am I right?
      Another example, same thing happen with communities around Linstead, Saint Catherine ( for example Treadways) people usually don’t mention the name of the parish (Saint Catherine) they just say the name of the community and then Linstead. And this happens because culturally people will associate the big town/city. Am I right?
      Please don’t misinterpret my point as I already acknowledged your input and accept it.
      I am just curious about your last statement and will ask you a question. What having born in another country has to do with knowing places?
      I will add something that is very interesting to me. Please don’t take me wrong as my interest is just general information and will say it just because you said I left another country to come......Did you know that the average Jamaican doesn’t really know Jamaica? Many persons have been living all their lives in Jamaica and never been in some major towns of Jamaica and tourists get to even visit more places than them?
      That will answer part of your statement as you not necessarily have to be born in a place to love it and know it.
      I appreciate your input and that’s the idea of this channel, that together we learn more about Jamaica “Land We Love” and share it with others.
      Thanks for your input
      Best wishes for you!

    Hey guys thanks for the video. But my question is where in mandeville is a little more moderate interms of temperature not that too cool/cold especially in the evening hour when you just want to kipback on the out door a bit...I like mandeville the greenery and freshness but a community with ok temperature and good neighbors

    • @walmos
      @walmos  3 роки тому

      Hi @Garford Stew
      It is a little hard to answer to that question because Mandeville is located on the hills of Jamaica so usually the temperature is cooler than other places but it depends on the time of the year. I personally don't feel any differences in the temperature except when the time gets cold in general, however I notice that when we have fog, it is more visible in the areas heading to knockpatrick or Newport. I guess it is because there is more vegetation on those areas.

      Well Mandeville is not really that cold, Cristiana in Manchester is cooler. Mandeville is only cool at this time of the year. I used to have a neighbor from Canada who didn't like the cold so when it was cold in Canada he traveled to Mandeville and stayed for about 6 months until winter was finished in Canada. Every time I saw him in the morning he was telling me how much he loves Jamaica and the warm weather.

      The weather in that area is very nice and cool, especially at night.

      Pete, Jamaica is NOT hot all year round. There is a temperature variation, specifically in Mandeville, Christiana, Colyville and Spauldings. I was in Mandeville 1987 my Uncle has a house there. This was in November I remember my wife asking for a blanket and my cousin giving me a hoodie top to wear, not sure what the temperature was but it got pretty cool/cold that night. There is a temperature difference according where you live in Jamaica, there is no USA type cold but some places get cold enough for a sweater/hoodie top. BTW my wife and I were visiting from NY so we know what cold is.

      Why was this comment necessary? Isn't the vlog about real estate and not about slighting/criticising your country folks? Most people in other countries love a nice home and expensive cars, just that they too, can't all afford it so why should Jamaicans be any different. It would be interesting to note your standard of living!!
