I've wanted to do object stuff in this game for a while, but there's so many different types of "unused" object-related stuff in the game that I didn't know where to start.
This vid covers all (AFAIK) unique objects that aren't used at all. It also covers some objects that have unused subtypes, like Jump panels. Future parts should be covering all the out of bounds and unused SET file stuff.
Credits go to Sonic Retro for basic info about Preview's discoveries/Sky Chase screenshots, Windii for her translation work and PkR for the DLC discovery.

oh my god dude you just brought to light something that bothered me for YEARS
when i was younger i remember seeing some video of big putting those keys in the slots in the hotel, and I would always to the hotel and try and do the same thing but of course, nothing would happen
i thought maybe it was some weird hack or something but now that I know what it is that's so cool
Always knew they were platforms for keys, never saw any footage though, I thought that maybe if you took the windy valley and ice cap key and put them in it then it would unlock the elevator on the right of the chao garden (the one for knuckle’s chaos fight)
When you combine both versions of Item Stand, the top part looks like a regular switch!

For the Breaking Tree in the Past. It's actually not unused. There is but 1 in the Burning Past when you visit it as Sonic or Knuckles. It's directly to the right of your spawn location, next to the bridge.
Thought you were going to mention unused Jam Spring, other then that, great video!
I have a theory for the unised casino signs, they were most likely removed due to them looking an awful lot like real life advertisements for actual gambling, thus making them unused.

I think you have to set the jump arc too, otherwise Sonic would probably just sort of scoot along the buttons in order.
@@edfreak9001 I don't think I've ever seen Sonic use these in an arc. It always seemed to me like he makes a beeline for the next one.
I'm all for the idea of "just sort of scooting" along them. That sounds like it would be pretty funny.
forgot to talk about the forgotten Egg-licopter. for the curious: it is an unused object aboard the egg carrier's decks which patrols around and the adventure field clouded version also has lightning randomly striking.
Edit: proved that there was indeed unused content aboard the egg carrier

I know the Chao Card/Chao Race symbol at 14:35 is supposed to represent a heart above two chao, but seeing the card from afar makes it like a silly googly cross-eyed face with a bushy moustache ^^'.
Also, pretty cool & helpful seeing those cutscene only & unused NPCs at 13:50. For a few years now I've been using Gen8's Chibi Maker to make a bunch of Sonic characters , and I've been focusing on Sonic Adventure's NPCs & key objects recently while replaying the game. Somehow I've made at least 70 chibis from Sonic Adventure alone, and I haven't even touched the general Badnik enemies yet ^^'.

Man, I miss the cross-promotion with NiGHTS. Glad to see a tiny bit making a comeback lately, though. The references felt like such a big part of the Adventure flavor, and the Adventures are still pretty widely adored.

@@okeokedu3281 Really late reply, but it is also used in the SADX Preview for when a boss test is done, and then a screen with nothing but two blue elongated spheres (probably meant to say retry or quit) appear with this music.

Can you carry other objects into the Chao Garden? If not, then the Chao Stadium card is probably unused just due to how it handles loading into the Chao gardens doesn't allow bringing items. Granted, they made it work for the Wind/Ice stones, so...
It'd be really cool to see you cover an "Unused stuff" covering OOB or unused SET configurations, thanks for this video too though!
Of cause can one take items with them how else are you suppose to take the 3 spezial Chao Egg's into the garden.

This just shows how none-at-all I cared about the SA1 chao system.
That Red Mountain catapult was probably intended to be on that part of the stage where touching the steaming moving rocks propelled you forward in the air past a life capsule, always thought that bit was odd
something about the explanation of how these objects work, dont work or are just unused makes me think of Mr. Fantastic's explanation of what he knows about Helios 1. things just randomly work or dont work, or only kinda work but in unexpected ways

I'm a relatively new Sonic fan (meaning in the past 8 years lol) so a lot of facts about the earlier games I'm not as familiar with, but wtf, that Sky Chase dragon is awesome! I'm so disappointed they didn't implement it, or at least bring it back in a future game

There is something I have always been curious about ever since I played Sonic Adventure for the very first time.
At 12:50 there is a lake at the bottom area that has a small platform that will go back into the wall if you try to stand on it.
Any idea why that is?

When I was a kid I genuinely thought that that Egg was the Ice Stone and wonder for a while why wasn't it working when I put it on the pedestal.

Never noticed until watching this video that Sky Chase uses Sonic and Tails' Sonic Jam models on the Dreamcast version. Huh

It's kinda interesting the Dreamcast version had Sonic's 3D-Saturn model for the Tornado segments. Sonic Adventure apparently was intended at first for Saturn, but moved to Dreamcast when Sega decided to create Chaos as a way to demonstrate the Dreamcast's capabilities.
However, Sega replaced that model in the GCN version.

Would it be possible to animate that dragon into a boss fight and add it into the game as a special mod? Taking advantage of the already finished animations and affects?
Regarding the correction you made in the description, it's funny you happened to use the Icecap music for that part. And not only that, but that specific section of Icecap with the 8-panel sequence.
i may be late but that chao card could be way of entering the race hall, something like the text says when you pick it up.
