Don't let the devil trip you up. Listen to the voice of Jesus in your heart as you read his telling of the parable of the Prodigal Son. Also a great help is reading the writing of St. Margaret Mary about her visions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Don't forget the Divine Mercy providence God has given you with that mighty Guardian Angel that stands beside you "to light, to guard, to guide" you. Grace and peace be with you.
