Thank you, Richard. It is the best video footage of the African Finfoot that I have seen. Beautiful photography. I also loved the other birds that you managed to capture in your video. They are the best of Mtunzini and typical of that area, but not always easy to find. I lived in Mtunzini for more than 12 years, but seldom saw the Finfoot.
Great video. I' a birder and bird photographer from Germany and I found your channel just a week ago. Thank you for this insides and tips. I plan to visit South Afrika, KZN Area next year, and your viedos are very helpful.
Hi Richard, another excellent video, thank you. It took me 23 years of visiting several African countries to finally catch up with African Finfoot in The Gambia last year! It was a pleasure to meet you in Lower Sabie last week and I look forward to watching more videos with your new camera. Keep up the superb work. Dave.
Hi Dave! What an absolute pleasure it was to meet you too. The African Finfoot is a very tricky customer. The Gambia must have great! Unfortunately there is no new camera just yet. I will probably only get around to that in February next year! Are you still in the Kruger?
@@RichardvanHaght Back in the UK now, we moved on to Berg-en-Dal for a couple of nights, caught up with Cheetah but no dogs. I'm sure the new camera can wait, just a few more pixels in the whole scheme of things. You're doing absolutely fine with your current set-up as your amazing footage can testify, an inspiration to us all.
@@RichardvanHaght Looks like my reply has mysteriously disappeared but I resurrected my Flickr account to add some Kruger shots, same user name. Hope you find me!
Awesome video and what a bird , i see a few of them in LA Luvuvhu river when i visit my home village during holidays . I like your idea of using the tent. I should get one. Nice video once again 👍🏽
Congratulations and thanks for sharing, Richard. What a fabulous variety of birdies! The footage of the Finfoot was absolutely amazing! I was blessed to see one in Skukuza, KNP in 2015, but haven't seen one since. Your videos are wonderful and I look forward to each and every one of them. CHEERS from Long Beach, California USA🤩
Beautiful video. I actually were able to identify the Lesser Masked Weaver call from one of your videos and believe me I was searching. Thank you for that.
@@RichardvanHaght Hells to the yeah mate. Dad lives in Langebaan so will be birding my brains out there. Then also doing a Cape Town pelagic and want to visit Strandfontein and Rondevlei reserves....and of cos Kirstenbosch gardens is a given. Obviously I'll be filming all those....of cos. 😂😂
Richard thank you so much. Your videos are so well narrated. Your camera work and editing are top-class. We scattered my mother's ashes at Mtunzini. I was so hoping to see a Palm-nut Vulture, but I am happy to see it through your lens. We did have rather startling encounters with a Green Mamba and then a Boomslang in the Mangrove swamp. It is certainly not a place for sissies.
Hi Wendy. Thank you for your great comment. Mtunzini is truly a very special place! Thank you so much for watching and enjoying the video. I believe there are plenty Green Mamba’s along the trail to the beach from the nature reserve. Thanks again!
I loved watching this video, will definitely let my young grandson watch it too. He loves birding. I've only seen the Finfoot from a distance. What video camera do you use, it's ts so steady and well edited.
Your video popped up in my feed, awesome stuff. have a question. What equipment do you use, if you have answered this in another video, please share link

Amazing video.....but the piano is killing it😮
Thank you for watching! The piano is my "secret weapon" for attracting the Finfoot.
The patience is next level!
Thank you so much Pranesh, I enjoy all of your videos!

Hi Richard, very nice video of the finfoot. Well done! Where did you buy the photographic hide? I would love to know, thanks!
