  • A little update on the stove pipe, that I decided to use, as my chimney. It is double wall 3", pellet stove pipe. It works very well, for me. You may have different results.

    This is how I want my cubit mini stove installed. NOT through the roof. Thanks for the video.

    Just came across your channel today and am fascinated by this stove. I think this is a solution I've been thinking of for a future building on my property.

      Keep in mind, this is a very small stove. Not sure what part of the country you are from, but when its 20 below zero, this little thing really has to work hard. Of course, If your future building is well insulated, That will make a difference. Thanks for watching!

      I'm in Ohio as well.
      I went to their website and checked square footage. Perhaps not the same box you're using, but they have a slightly larger size that they say can heat the square footage I'm planning for. I just knew the large, "normal", sized wood burners were going to be too large for what I'm thinking I want.
      Thanks!

      I think you're talking about the Grizzly. It has a pretty cool grill attachment, that is not available for the one I have (cub). Good luck and keep warm!

      I have one. It burns like a jet engine, it's scary, I have been running without a thermometer till Monday but when I open both vents the air sucking sound is audible. I would say 400 sq. ft. with back up or you'll be feeding all day.

    I just bought a England Survivor Cub wood stove for my RV trailer. It uses 4inch pipe unless I buy a pipe increaser. I’m wondering if I should go to 6 inch pipe. Either way I’m going to run the pipe out to a T like you did. I won’t have to use as much pipe to go higher then the roof.
    Good video. I also wanted to know if you plan on doing more radio videos. I would like to see more of your videos on GMRS and GMRS simplex repeater.

      I've had to replace a few pieces due to rust, but other than that, everything works fine.

      @PreppingOhio  5 років тому +3

      The Off Grid Tiny House no I don’t. They are very common at any tractor supply, or rural king. 200-300$, for the kit, or you could buy the pieces and build it your own way.

    Nice video.. How do you clean the stove pipe where it meets the top of the stove? Do you get a pile of soot dropping down in that area? Thanks

    • @PreppingOhio
      @PreppingOhio  4 роки тому +1

      There is very little that builds up, but it is cleanable. You can either take the inside apart, with a couple nuts, or just stick a shop vack in the flue. Also, you can just turn the stove upside down and dump everything out.

    Hi I like your video of the cubic mini wood stove ,I was wondering if I could use this stove every day an nite all winter long in the minis temperatures like -20 here in Canada

    • @PreppingOhio
      @PreppingOhio  6 років тому +1

      I suppose you probably could. Provided, that the area you are trying to heat is small and well insulated. It would take a lot of work feeding the fire and cleaning it out.

    Sweet. Almost exactly what I was planning. Glad to hear it's working. Thanks for posting this video!Does the pipe not seal well enough outside to stop the creosote from running or is it coming from the cap down?

    • @PreppingOhio
      @PreppingOhio  6 років тому +2

      Its coming from the cap. It may not show up very well, in the video, but the cap is on an angle. That seams to be where most of the junk collects. Once I get a proper cap, it should stop, as long as I keep it clean and burn only dry seasoned wood.

    • @phil7754
      @phil7754 6 років тому

    I think you needed to burn off the galvanizing before using it indoors because a wood stove gets hotter. Check it out and enjoy.

    • @PreppingOhio
      @PreppingOhio  5 років тому

      Normally I would agree. However, this tiny wood burner, doesn’t get near as hot as a normal sized one. That being said, safety first! Thanks for your recommendation.

    With the elbows set up like that do you get sufficient air Flow?,,i was asking as I noticed on the cubic site they don’t sell elbows because they suggest you only install your pipe straight up and down.

    • @PreppingOhio
      @PreppingOhio  3 роки тому

      It probably restricts the flow, a little. However, as long as the pipe is clean, I’ve never had any problem with draft.
