      YES, BEST VIDEO I HAVE SEEN. HE ANSWERED MY QUESTIONS. I WAS NOT SURE HOW TO GET THE URCHIN TO EAT THE NORI. MY GUESS WAS SET THE URCHIN ON TOP OF NORI. HIS VIDEO CONFIRMED WHAT I DID WAS THE WAY TO GO. THE URCHIN MADE QUICK WORK ON THAT NORI.

    I have two of those.It is very active,walks around all day long doing the cleaning.
    Cons:Will change your coral layout whenever it bumps onto.Those pins sticks to anything
    and it loves to stick macro algae on its pins,if you have any on your display tank

    Your Tuxedo Urchins work differently than mine. I have 2 blue ones in my 13.5 Nano tank. They barely touch my GHA. I have had them in there for almost a year. They don't care.
    I have to remove it manually. I think it is luck if you have an invert that demolishes it. All they do is just pick up the algae and wear it as a coat.

    I would add 2 or 3 Lava rocks in there just to feed those 2 hungry things.
    Ps Lava rock grows hair algae very well sometimes because there full of nutrients of every kind.

    Woah!!!! I need to do this! I have a tiny one somewhere in my tank. Maybe I should find him and sit him on a hair algae patch.

    I love these critters.
    If you don't care about it reducing Coralline, my experience is they work even better than Tangs.
    Unfortunaly they can be easy to starve in a small display and they can scratch acrylic, but in a big glass display or sump they are amazing

      Yea more effect than tangs!

    The 4 tuxedo urchins in my 180 put in work! Mega lawn mowers for sure. Also bulldozers, but well worth it.

    This video couldn’t have come out at a more perfect time. Just picked one of these up from aquashella chicago to help with my hair algae issues 😅 is there any considerations when it comes to handling them when moving them?

    When you did the double dose did it affect the Acro’s? Did you do a water change in-between doses, after, or no water change?

    • @ReefDudes
      @ReefDudes  Рік тому +1

      No water change for a while, took a week or two to work. Was mainly zoas i did it on but not impact to them.
