Hey T4KEN, I just wanted to say that your mixes have been constant companions to me through many journeys in the UK and Spain. Some of the mixes are so taped into my brain that they evoke memories now of different places and things I was doing at the time. I know that you're doing different stuff now and, from other friends that made music long ago, it pays off but never quite in the way we expected and much more slowly, if that makes sense. I like all kinds of mixes and music, but when I write I need clean sets, I can't have words of people talking to me getting into my head, or too many lyrics; that's also why Jazz, classical and dub also work for me, apart from many forms of electronic music. I'm grateful for the ability to get these mixes remotely and put them in my mp3, I mean all of the ones I find, but your mixes come from a time when there was far less of that kind of thing and the community was smaller, that's also why I remember your sets so fondly, but still like to play them today. I know it's not much, but thanks. Like many DJs I listen to, I don't know anything about you, but always think well of you and all the comments you write in your set threads seem to confirm that, you give so much and all I can hope is that you get it back one day. Big ups and thanks again, it was a great little body of work.
+Vesper Lynd Awww...thanks V! I'm not getting as much work done as I'd like, the production thing is very time consuming. But I have more mixes coming...promise!
Nice set list! Looks like a bunch of breakstep and some psy breaks mixed in. Based out of Atlanta ?? I’ll be moving there in a few months. Breakbeats all day kid 😎
Awesome mix! Just getting back into Djing after a 12yr break and I'm trying to build a collection of progressive breaks, only issue is I only DJ on vinyl and I've noticed a lot of the prog breaks stuff is digital only nowadays. Can anyone point me in the direction of some good producers/ artists who are putting this kind of stuff out on vinyl? I'm also looking for melodic stuff too (Abdomen Burst is a good example of what I mean). Thanks.
+T4KEN Yes I'm only about 20 miles away. I've been going on & off for years. I didn't make it this year as we have a new baby. Do you go there yourself?
nah mate...I'm in the US, and have only been across the pond one time, to Ireland for work. But I saw your note and had to google somerset levels...and figured out you're from the west coast of UK and near Glaston. Hell of a festival to be close to...
+Tomasz Strawczyński See, that's all the subliminal messaging I apply when I'm doing the video part. You must be super intelligent to have spotted it...congrats Tomasz!!!
+Nenad Markovic Thanks Nenad...and hell yeah, i can fuck up a mix with the best of them! But I tend to plan and prepare, record...listen back...adjust...re-record, so I limit crashes by planning and working really hard to find really interesting transitions.
