Social media has ruined an entire generation of kids
No it’s ruined the entire planet
Don't forget weak parenting
@@ericjohnston7663there’s one party that particularly doesn’t want to put their kids through ANYTHING difficult….
How about defunding Gen Z!!!!!!
They’ll still have to take accountability for their poor choices of using it. Parents won’t be alive forever.
Why do people take life lessons from 20 somethings that have almost no life experience?
That's what I was wondering. It's the blind leading the blind.
Gen Z in a nutshell.
Baby Boomers demanded exactly that since they were burning bras.
@Christopher-iv9yy It applies to every generation.
20yos are full of life experiences to a 12yo 😂
‘Influencer’ is just a nice way of saying ‘narcissist’
YOU GOT IT!!
The problem is most of these people are sponging off the rest of us. most are on some sort of handout program be it their parents, govt. or church.
Problem is gen z want work-life balance without the work.....

You’ve confused Gen Z with Baby Boomers.
Dr. Phil is awesome for not cracking up at these people.
Dr Phil is a troublemaker
A while back someone on the internet said "is there anything in the world more worthless than an influencer?
The problem is when people do the bare minimum, their coworkers get stuck doing more.
If they do the minimum then they should get the minimum.

They don't care about anybody but themselves.
The world needs less “influencers”
Who do they Influence IDJITS
We need ONE influencer... Jesus Christ of Nazareth
Amen!
@@MichaelLightning7 Well said
@@MichaelLightning7 Better yet, real role models who actually existed 😋
The laughter from 3rd world countries is deafening.
NOBODY should be getting paid by being an "influencer"
Yes, their followers who donate!
Well..... do models and speakers and presenters, etc get paid? And they are also just "influencers", so is/should there really be a difference between a self-managing influencer and a agent-managed model/speaker/presenter/etc?
Lexi Rivera is rich
So Dr. Phil shouldn’t get paid then?
@@jackstormwater7256 Dumb answer! Dr Phil is WAY MORE that just an influencer. He is a QUALIFIED PSYCHOLOGIST.
that little girl just contradicted herself big time, all in the same breath!🤣
That’s what gen z do! They don’t even know what a woman is!
This is what has happened to the “everyone get a trophy” generation. It was very predictable!
I have a daughter in law that spouts the same garbage. She believes working is soul crushing so she marries men that will support that behavior namely my oldest son. She is also a classic narcissist and uses her children as pawns in manipulating others. I’m not sure how my son fell for her but it’s caused a decline in our relationship.
Funny that work is only acceptable for the man she leaches from. Can’t stand hypocrites like her
Described my child's mother. She's a narcissistic mother who uses our child to destroy me through alienating me and to control her own family. Abusing our daughter who wants to be with her loved ones and not some pawn on her evil mother's chessboard
That's basically a huge portion of women since the dawn of time.
It's soul crushing because no matter how hard we work, we will always be living paycheck to paycheck.
@@SomethingSomethingg Wrong, since 10 years. Not before.
It takes a lot of guts, to get up in front of an entire audience, and tv, and be an entitled brat.
The girl at the start lives in a homeless programme so she is living off someone else, someone else is funding everything in her life and she does not seem to see that. It seems that every one of these kids wants to be a social media influencer, how many of these does the world need?
None! I don't need any influences from 20 yo below kids😂😂😂😂
They also don't seem to understand that "influencer" means to guide the actions of others. In other words, "to manipulate." Marketing has been manipulating people for as long as it's existed and doesn't promote free thinking individuals because its nature is to drive a particular narrative in order to increase sales of a product. In the case of social media, the product influencers are selling is the number of views on a video in most instances. Easy to achieve that by being controversial, posting hate comments, click bait titles, and generally going against the grain. It's a sad state of affairs.
It should be mandatory for all 18 year olds to serve in the military for a minimum of 2 years. They would then appreciate the privilege of living in the USA.
Yeah no, I’m not sacrificing my time and potentially my life to invade third world countries for oil.

One of my greatest regrets in life at 56 is that I never had Childern. That being said, I also have a sense of relief that I don't have Childern.

@@MarkWerderitsch-k9vIt has very much to do with politics uncle James.
Interesting. How will the world exist with this type of attitude permeating society? Everyone wants to be an influencer but who will they influence? Who will then do the actual real work that is needed to sustain society? These people are delusional.
How did the world exist with the large population of hippies rejecting work and spending their days binging? The hippies weren't everyone back in the 60s and these kids aren't everyone today.

Been working for 45 years and am tired. 4 to go. But I am not homeless. Live indoors and am never starving.
I don't work a 9-5, but still work. I pay my bills and have a great credit rating. Having zero kids and minimal debt helps. Work, life balance is crucial, you ONLY have one life.

You cannot have a job or a boss, but don't expect me to feed you or pay your bills.
At 0:30. Most of those workers he talks about were men. Women arrive at the finish line and want to reap the benefits of invention and innovation without doing any of the work.
You can only blame the parents. They lost control of their children.
You can't control someone else's mindset. That's called brainwashing. You can teach. You can lead. You can instill. You can't force. The social media world that children have access to (yes even an 18 year old is still a child) they can access without your permission and be influenced strictly by others who are "selling" them a way of life that seems more appealing. Of course, they hear "you don't have to work" and want that to be true. Of course they hear "pass the buck to others and make others do it instead" This isn't just parents..it's group think of a whole generation.
"Just a janitor," who keeps YOUR work place clean and tidy, EARNS a paycheck and supports their family, very respectable I'd say!
This kid is going to get a taste reality soon enough. Social media does not educate and it does not make you a better person and it certainly makes little to no contribution to society.
I hope they're successful. So successful that they need to hire employees 😂
I moved out of my parents house in 1972 at the age of nineteen. Told I could not move back so work, pay my bills (rent, utilities, car insurance....eat last). I did that. Never moved back. Had two marriages, three children. My children learned by my example. I have never had to help them pay a bill.
And these idiots despise you and think you’re a sucker.
Reminds me of the day I was driving my teenage daughter somewhere. I was going about the speed limit, when she proclaimed authoritatively, “Mom, you have to go faster - speed limit signs are the MINIMUM!” I corrected her, but she wouldn’t have it. For the next 5 minutes, she lit into me how little I knew and how only her generation understood the world. A bit later, she received her first traffic ticket for, take a guess - speeding.
Gen Z has always gotten a trophy for every fashionable thing they have ever done. She is going to regret being on your show.
I sooo want to agree, but there's a growing trend now of putting out video content labeled "I was wrong about..." It just gives them another route to put out even more garbage and get even more views without regretting anything.
I asked my son’s friend what he wanted to do as a career and he stated “I’m not doing grunt work”
"I don't want to work! I'll make videos because other fools will pay me for it"
These are more ons that will vote for Kamala 😂
Blame their parents. When you put children in a bubble and make their lives easy. Generation of instant gratification.
I disagree with that. Sometimes, it's growing up struggling that makes you behave this way. I see how hard my Mom works and she can't even afford her own home. She lives in a cramped condo. I honestly don't blame people for having so much apathy towards work and life in general.
@@SomethingSomethingg what are you rambling about?? That's part of life. Work is necessary unless you want to be homeless.
Imagine being a social media influencer at 21…what will they be doing at 38? 😂
Most narcissistic generation to ever exist. HR departments review your social media now. All I hear as a gen x is my pay is going to skyrocket over the next 10 years as quality employees from the younger generations simply won't exist in the future
The problem is that when they realize their foolishness.... THEY WILL SCREAM FOR EVERYONE ELSE TO PAY FOR IT.
Student load "forgiveness" is a great example.
The problem nowadays is inflation is so high that people get discouraged at work and they think why are they working because they can’t afford their bills
Yet those same people will vote for the party that created the high inflation.
Social media has really dumbed down society. 😢
This lawyer and these influencers know exactly what they’re doing, they’re taking advantage of a swath of individuals that are lost and filling their heads with nonsense while in conjunction profiting off it AND keeping their viewers and followers in their place
As the saying goes, "Hard times breeds hard people, hard people breeds soft times, and soft times breeds soft people." Currently, we are in soft times breeding soft people. However, this is shifting towards hard times. It's inevitable, and many individuals, like this person, are in for a reality check.
It's never been easier to move up in a company with these bums. You don't have to step on anyone's head anymore they just lie down for you to move ahead.
Corporate america has a lot to do with the mindset of the twenty something's, growing up in the 80's my parents were the last generation in which corporate america offered pensions, solid retirement and valued their employees.
i work in a warehouse and it's kind of disgusting how much the gen z kids skate or go hide during work then they get all sensitive when you call them lazy.
I had this mentality when i was 18 until i worked with people who were working american jobs at 1/4 of the wage doing 4x the output.
The real transformation is when you become a family provider.
So I think Dr Phil should have stopped her at "Homeless Program" and pointed out that she is living off of someone else's dime. The taxpayers are funding her food and roof over her head.
This is why we have so many people living in cardboard boxes😂😂😂
An entire generation with zero work ethic
Ive seen a whole bunch in their late 40,s and 50,s that are trying to imitate their single gen z kids. Single moms with gen z daughters specifically.
If the internet goes down a whole generation will be suicidal! But it’s the parents fault be I teach my children if you don’t work you don’t eat and don’t look for me for handouts. I’ll help you but not hold your hand especially if you’re a grown adult!
I'm retired with a pension. She will not have that. I work part time in a specialty cheese shop in a major grocer. I've worked with many people her age who have no idea how to work hard or care about the product they provide. It's sad that I care more while paying more than half of what I earn in taxes. They will quit the second they are asked to work. I wonder it this is the result of liberal policies pushing excessive minimum wages, living wages, and free college? Why bother if you don't have any incentive to make any effort? Why bother after high school if you have another free four years without any kind of responsibility? This isn't gen Z, it's lazy G.
Social media is not to blame. Kids are lazy because they get no discipline. It starts with the PARENTS!
These kids don't want to pay their dues like the rest of us. If they do have a job they just do whatever they want and are not disciplined. When I was working if I did that I would have been shown the door.
Come on now, Dr Phil, nobody in late millenials and younger can possibly afford property AND kids in these hard economic times.
They're striving for work-life balance instead, because these basic life achievements, these milestones to work towards, are simply not THERE anymore for the less-than-privileged.
The stress-related strokes and heart attacks in those who try anyway, will also be devastating.
I started in a job completely green 5 years ago and worked hard. People made jokes that I was working too hard, stayed late and working overtime, etc. 5 years later, I've been promoted and I'm in what's considered the "cushy" job that's paid well.
"Social media influencer" is the fancy way to say "unemployed".
I don't need some airhead influencer teaching me to be lazy, trust me, I could've easily done it on my own. I chose not to be lazy and did go the extra mile, I am now financially sound in my middle age.
We all wanted to be millionaires but in my day when you hit the age of 12 you quickly hit the real world and rely on work and other people to survive and and go forward, Not as a millionaire but in this day and age just going forward is an achievement.
The problem is people who are willing but are under paid and cannot live and pay rent or buy a house. These bums will always suffer unless they marry rich or live off family.
She expresses a desire to become a social media influencer to avoid a traditional 9-5 job. However, she may not recognize that many of the most successful influencers often engage in extensive work hours, sometimes exceeding the typical 9-5, to maintain their platforms, produce content, and manage their brands effectively.
She also says that employers use fear to motivate their employees. But how will she deal with online trolls, doxxers, and stalkers affecting her self-image and platform? Those threats are much worse than a boss at work.
Phones and social media produced these clowns. Before that people used to be normal
I swear....if I was running things, I'd make it mandatory that young people would have to do a solo one month stay in the bush with only the basic tools to survive. They would HAVE TO do some work...or not graduate. Supervised from a distance, only intervening for instruction, not physical help. No power, no internet, no phone, no TV, no company. Make them self aware.
Yeah these kids are definitely lazy. They're also super complaintful, and give up easily. Not knowing nwhat it takes to climb that mountain to reach a goal.
The goal has to be reach-able, though
This is why I won’t hire anyone under 40!
Age discrimination?
How are these non-worker surviviing? What are they living on? Their parents? The government? Friend and family?
If you want to work you'll find a way. if you don't want to work you'll find an excuse.
I have my criticisms of modern society but they stem from how we become too reliant on it and if it crashes what will do if we can’t survive without it? But living off grid, for example, is hard work. Survival is hard work. There is no avoidance of hard work no matter which direction you go in. To be self reliant completely is asking for more work not less. A 9-5 is much easier than living off the land.
Wow. When are they coming out with a parental license test before people have children?
Young people today think they are supposed to start at the top and not have to start at the bottom and learn the job.
A social networking influencer is nothing, it's not a job. It is a flash in the pan idea. The companies that allow you to do what your doing is just pulling the wool over your eyes.
Henry Ford was the biggest idiot for creating the 9-5 schedule, this is a an outdated practice and I don’t like it doing it day in and day out. We need to be relaxing on a beach 🏖️ and writing a book eating an apple 🍎
There are 2 types of adult people in this country. People who are assets and people who are liabilities. If you work and pay taxes you are an asset. If you don’t work enough to support yourself and must rely upon some sort of assistance you are a liability. It should be an embarrassment to you and your family if you are an able bodied person who is a liability.
If work is soul crushing to the young lady, her parents failed.
But if she can be successful on her own, more power to her.
These kids will be getting a very hard dose of the unforgiving reality when they near their forties. When you have no work experience behind you or resume to speak of, and your body is starting to fall apart. And your looks don't take you anywhere anymore.
The factor i really object to with the GEN-Z attitude of "get by doing as little as possible" is that one learns, extends, grows and develops oneself by taking on things one is not comfortable with. Learning, in its essence, is an uncomfortable activity because one needs to bridge the gap between ones current knowledge and skill base to a higher and broader knowledge and skill base. If you ALWAYS want to remain in your comfort zone you will NEVER EVER grow and develop to you full potential - or even a degree of your full potential.
What a waste of a life, as far as i am concerned - especially if you also become a wining, moaning demanding oxygen-thief in the process!
Social media can be a power tool when used right.
But it rarely is...
Dude lied his way to the top and now he’s giving advice about honest work? 😂😂😂
Man y’all be blessed
Social media influencer? Good luck with hat.
It’s important to have a work-life balance and enjoy your life as long as you can pay your bills without banks of Mom and Dad and/or credit cards until you die.
Wait until the employees at the electric department catch on to lazy girl, they stop working hard and she’s sitting in the dark.
"I like to have meetings after 10:00 a.m. or I like to have meetings before 10:00 a.m."
How will those two people ever have a meeting? Moreover how will anyone accomplish anything if you're just pursuing your own selfish preferences rather than making sacrifices for a group? Oh, they don't accomplish anything. That's the answer.
Exactly. Gabrielle is very eloquent and poised, but I'm stunned by her utter lack of awareness and real world work experience. You can tell she's never had to manage team. The second you've got two employees whose calendars clash on general principle -- under the guise of "work-life balance" -- it's over. You don't have a team anymore, and as a manager you soon won't have a job anymore.
Work is called "work" for a reason. And companies are set up the way they are for a reason. Someone has to be in charge and someone has to take orders. Otherwise, nothing will get done and the business won't thrive.
"If aan SHOULD NOT work, neither should he eat." -- the Bible
Some of this generation needs to understand not all jobs are 9-5 like health care workers, and several other jobs they are in for a RUDE AWAKENING
I think we are evolving and Gen Z realizes that life isn't worth living especially if you have to work all day.
Being a social media influencer is not a job, nor a career. It’s a waste of time for any employee who is responsible for their work schedule, customer service, among many important factors.
Millionaires, multi millionaires...who wrote boooks.
Expert in this subject. LOL these influencers aren’t experts in anything especially the younger women
Fun fact. In history, the older generation almost always believe the younger generation is lazy and will doom us all, yet we still are here today. It is because the younger generation doesn't conform to what the older generation think of in terms of hard work. Technology advances exponentially, which influences the way people work. Eventually the world adapts. Gen-Z will eventually also find the generations, younger than them, lazy and/or annoying when they grow old.
