  • On March 11, 1994, Bob Mayer traveled with his then 14 year old son Chad to witness the birth of their 1994 Mustang Cobra Indy Pace Car, which Bob had ordered a full year earlier. Bob and Chad followed the car down the line at Ford's Rouge Assembly Plant in Dearborn, Michigan. Bob still owns the car today, though it is now officially an antique (25 years or more in Florida). As of July 9, 2019 the Cobra has only 1,250 miles on the odometer.

So how did this car work you for you? It's so cool watching it being built!

Still have the car, about to turn 1,600 miles. Everything original except battery. Basically used only for car shows, dinner out, etc. Love the car!

      @@thecardsaysmoops wow that's neat!
My uncle was involved with getting the original run of civilian Hummers built, they visited the factory in Indiania to watch it being made, then drove it to visit family in VA, then back up to CA. I've uploaded a lightly edited version of his VHS camcorder tapes from this experience on my channel.
