The game plan is never to beat the Chiefs, it’s to try to stop Patrick Mahomes and that’s why other teams continue to lose to that team. They focus way too much on trying to prove that Mahomes is not invincible and the best player ever instead of just trying to win.

Every year either the offense is elite or the defense is elite or both. But he is extremely good at winning with a good team, better than almost anyone ever.

To help you understand, the chiefs in 2017 scored 25.7 ppg with Alex Smith.
In 2018, with the exact same team, Mahomes lead the chiefs to 35.9 ppg.
That's the 3rd best of all time.
The 2017 chiefs aren't in the top 100.
The way I see it, the Chargers are somewhere between 8-9 & 10-7, depending on how good some of their mid opponents are this year. Anywhere in that range puts them in 2nd in the AFC West. 10-7 may get them in the playoffs, depending on how good the other 3 AFC divisional 2nd place teams do.
I'm a charger's fan and I don't think it's there yet.... I think you'll be a tough opponent.And I think there will be a physical team... But I also think this is a three year build... I know I also think that mahomes is the best quarterback and player in the N.F.L.

Like a broken record. Whenever you try to make a case for a player such as Brock Purdy or any other good QB that Nick deems unacceptable... its all about the coach and the team. He yells from the rafters that its a team sport. But when it comes to Mahomes... its Mahomes beat this team. Or Mahomes beat that team. Or Mahomes beat the entire AFC West single handedly. I've never seen a sports pundit bury objectivity and integrity alive as much as Nick. Well, I guess besides skip. Not good company to be in.

Jim harbaughs 49ers teams were STACKED. Offense defense In the trenches skill positions and back end. This chargers roster 1-53 doesn’t have the depth, vet XP, or overall talent in their prime in comparison. It’s gonna take 2-3-4 years.

Wrong. Comparing what the Chiefs did to the Chargers under Lynn and Staley and thinking it will be anything similar to what they will do against JIM HARBAUGH is laughable. Thats like comparing how the Lions played for decades to how they been under Campbell, you know, NFC championship game last year? Jim had a front row seat to the AFC championship game last year and saw how to beat the Chiefs, you pound the rock and keep Mahomes on the bench. Something his brother just went away from. The Chiefs have problems stopping the run, that is what Jim Harbaugh teams excel at. Coaching has kept this team back for a long time though. Harbaugh can at least remedy that. Crosby said they were going for the tie when Staley called that time out. I don't expect them to win the division but to hopefully compete for the last wild card spot.

Then they go in the road for a 2-game gauntlet in the playoffs after beating MIA, many gave them little chance to beat Buf and Balt. If anyone was going to "get" the Chiefs it was last season. Coming from a Chargers fan, I do not expect to suddenly take over the Chiefs. Andy Reid is an amazing coach, and obviously Patrick Mahomes is an amazing quarterback. Nobody can deny Harbaugh is an elite coach, and only an idiot who doesn't understand statistics or watch football would say Herbert isn't elite. Harbaugh will elevate the team to a level where they can be competitive, but by no means do I see them taking over necessarily.
Fellow Charger fan here, I think our real championship window will open next year when we will FINALLY be a top 5 team in free cap space again, and can sign more marquee FAs that HARBAUGH WON’T WASTE 😭🙏⚡️
@@bt3913 Justin's costs start kicking in next year, and this year's roster is almost entirely made out of expiring contracts. I maybe expect a DT and CB signed (they should draft a CB high and save dollars for the trenches), but the rest of the cap space is going to spent just making sure they have bodies available to for gameday.

Comparing 1 year d coordinator Staley to Harbough is insane.
The culture change Jim will inspire is gonna be nuts and remember 6 of their losses last year were by 3 or less so it’s not like they’re WAY off and it doesn’t take years for a great HC to turn a program around ie McVey in LA, Pederson in Jacksonville.
NE won for twenty years and KC is winning now with a great HC, QB, Oline and situationally great D. Chargers are following this blueprint and are gonna be a force.

As a Charger fan, KC Chiefs are the best team in our division. No, if's, and's, or but's. Until then, enjoy it while they can because nothing last forever.
It's the NFL. Players get hurt. You can't say no chance. Plus Jim Harbaugh took a 6-10 Niners team and went 13-3 his first year there. That's good enough to win the division if he can somehow replicate that. Doesn't mean they would be better than a healthy Kansas City going into the playoffs or more favored to win the Super Bowl.

THIS! I'm the furthest thing from a Chiefs fan, too. The teams that could possibly give them trouble are Jets if 100% healthy, and Rodgers is back to his 35-year-old level? The Jacksonville Jaguars. The Houston Texans. Lastly? The Cleveland Browns depends on Chubb's recovery prospects. I think the Bengals, Bills, and Dolphins are all falling further back now. Chargers are 2 years away from challenging for the division.
That's when I see Kelce walking off into the sunset, and Chris Jones falls off a cliff skill level wise for the Chiefs. That's when they will come back down towards the pack.
