Your telling me, these babies are active. I 1/8 sift and add to baby bins and egg bins, and then what ever gets thru just hatches in breeder bin. I'm in such of an obundance I'm not picking everyone out. I'm always rolling some bigger stuff over to new bins
Well done and very informative. I definitely agree with showing it as it is, instead of lots of edits and overblown claims. When we see the good, the bad and any places to improve, we are giving content that truly informs. By the way, do you have a link to show the type of mesh you use for your sifter?

I sift my beds 3 times 1/8 1/10 and the final one at about 1/12. At that point i would say mine are about 80 to 90% castings. Its time consuming and its hard on the back but its worth it. I dont sell much because I dont advertise it. But the few I do sell it too always come back for more.
I sell mine as vermicompost not pure castings, majority are castings but the chance of organic matter is still there, which is good for the garden , just not considered pure castings.
@@sandtosoil yea and its black as midnight. With a sprinkling of the grit thats left. I dont sell them as pure. But i do try to get them as close as i can with enough stuff left over to keep the microbes going till they are used.
Rite on man! Im also a worm farmer. In the process of starting my own business called Spo-Castings worm farm, here in Spokane Washington. Would love to talk with u sometime about some specifics. I really like your worm bin set up and the way u post your UA-cam clips non-edited. My name is Levi Merkel if you wanted to connect and share some ideas.
Good work 👏
Thanks
Precomposting is the way to go. less overs and worms don't have to wait as long for bacteria to break down the food and bedding
Great video as I’m a worm farmer also but always learning 🇳🇿❤
That's for watching , gonna have a live stream tonight most likely. I'm like a sponge when learning about something I'm interested in.
Do you leave the lights on in the worm room to discourage the worms from crawling out?
Sometimes , they don't really leave either way. Good conditions , happy worms.
Healthy, active worms! They sure made short work of that pre-compost. What do you do to get the cocoons out of the breeder bins?

What I'm really curious of, is how to sell. How do you make or enter a market?
Lets just push this to 1k views
Thanks so much for the videos. Where do you get these bins?
Lowes and homedepot ,cement mixing trays
Is 1/8 inch small enough to retain the cocoons with the worms?
Stops most of them, my pleasure to pass a few on with my vermicompost .
Thank you!
