@@jadedemotions9891 Even with all that she never really fell off. She didn’t have a mental breakdown or serious problem, and as for the pain killers I understand that. I saw her do this live in concert many years ago. The ushers wouldn't let us dance in the rows. She brought Emilio out from back stage to say hello. He was too shy. Remember they were married?
Is he the one rapping too, or is that Will Smith? I even choreographed dance routines to this and never noticed how much it sounds like Will Smith on the rap.
. My God, I get gobsmacked every time I hear this. The song is such a work of art ; it's so sublime. The sheer complexity of the song structure, the astonishing vocal range, the off-time beats, her utter mastery of her voice inflections, enunciated just right, and at the right volume level. Awe is not a strong enough word for how I feel.....this is like listening to John Lennon X 2. This was Paula's swan song and a genius-level masterpiece at that. Songs reaching this high a caliber only show up every 50 to 100 years. This is so top shelf. Yes ? We should count ourselves lucky to know the song. This diamond will be studied, dissected, and postulated upon for decades, maybe centuries -- by top thinkers, top audiophiles, and other elite intellectuals who will lift her up high and place her upon a pedestal, as each generation's same upper crust did before them. Kudos, Paula -- you opened our eyes. You pushed the pinnacle, your flag sunk into a new planet , pushing into deep space, the unknown, as if to say, "How you like me now you din-level loser musicians? I took the game to a new galaxy and a new planet. Top that sh*t, love !! " I humbly give praise and thanks to you for gifting upon us this art that we may all peruse for our personal glee and bliss from now until forever. You are a blessing, child. Thanks, again ! .

Sorry about your nan, but glad to hear you have those great memories!
May she rest in peace.
that moment when Paula had it all, she was the one and only!
Enrique Sánchez ...she certainly did have it all. And being cool as she was, she never let it go to her head. No dope scandals, no falls from grace. She dances as she is: Free and talented and out to raise you up just with her being. Success! It worked.
@@jerrymammoser1509 minus a lip sync scandal, addiction to pain killers, a bad reality show and lying about a plane crash
@@jadedemotions9891 Even with all that she never really fell off. She didn’t have a mental breakdown or serious problem, and as for the pain killers I understand that. She was given high doses to correlate with her serious injuries, her doctors should of monitored that more. The lip syncing everyone did it, and Michael Jackson even did it a couple times the same year she was accused so I don’t understand that. She had/has a decent singing voice and tone, and she never lied about the plane crash I’m pretty sure she passed out and didn’t remember certain parts from the crash because of trauma and the brain receptors blurring out certain memories, but hey I could be wrong that’s just what I’ve heard.
she is my favourite person in the impractical jokers movie! I love you Paul Abdul
Paula you’re fabulous! Billboard awards brought me here!!
I’m from the 1980s so this stuff was amazing and so fresh and exciting. Kids today can never know how we paved the way….. especially for a gorgeous talented Paul Abdul to star with a dancing hand drawn cat with swollen feet 😂
me to Rosie
Happy 61st Birthday Paula Abdul 🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈
Saints Row helped me discover this years ago & it’s still high on energy & a load of fun. Paula was onto something w/ this gem here.
Also the animation team deserves credit here, for a video from 1988 this still holds up well.

God! Why can't we have music and music videos like this anymore?
Cuz theres actual high quality production now. And also because not everything is made for kids

Paula and Janet were the queens of the 80s.
BB Love them and madonna
No it was Donna Summer
Madonna, Cyndi Lauper and Tina Turner the real queens of the 80s.
Georgina Hamilton: Donna Summer was from the '70s.
BB Love mere shadows in madonnas hotness at the time! 🙃
She was an instant crush as soon as this came out and I saw it... Amazing woman.
popped up on my youtube suggestions. Probably over ten years since last heard this at least. And who knows how long since last seen that video. Still had me singing along and smiling.

Wish we had more music videos with toons nowadays!
Yup.
I’m glad you had a happy childhood, meanwhile children are being killed by your country 👎🏻
John, you should know better than to make nice comments about Paul Abdul. Syrians should not be allowed on UA-cam. Syria is a known terrorist state.
Happy Birthday Ms.Paula Abdul!!!
Oh wow day after and she looks my twin sister ,love her.❤
What age did she turn though 🤔? And she still looks good from the pics I've seen.
She did all the chorography, all the dancing, all the singing, minus the rapping of course. Talent much? 😁
I saw her do this live in concert many years ago. The ushers wouldn't let us dance in the rows. She brought Emilio out from back stage to say hello. He was too shy. Remember they were married?
Anyone else here just because they're really old and remember the song from when they were a kid? :(
Hehe, I'm and old furry, so naturally the video dates back to when I was a kid, and the anthro cat is something that I just like.
I'm here from saints row 4
I'm actually here because I just found out by some site that this was the #1 song on the day I was born hahahaha
yes
Yh me
BTW, MC Skat Kat is alive and well and works at Minnesota Public Radio
I KNEW IT!!!!
I thougt he got the janitor job in the cia where stan works😂
I feel thrilled to know, MC Skat Kat is great
Is he the one rapping too, or is that Will Smith? I even choreographed dance routines to this and never noticed how much it sounds like Will Smith on the rap.
Nevermind, I found it. Vocals by Bruce DeShazer and Marv Gunn, also known as The Wild Pair. Rap was provided by Derrick "Delite" Stevens
Doesn't matter how old it is because everytime listening again feels like !!! N E W !!!
I humbly give praise and thanks to you for gifting upon us this art that we may all peruse for our personal glee and bliss from now until forever. You are a blessing, child. Thanks, again !

I was 4 years old. Whoop for the 80’s kids! 😊
1989 actually. It dropped in the Mid Summer.
I was born in 86 and I remember seeing these videos! I attempt to dance at such a young age. I gave mom a hot hearted heart attack with cold hearted snake! Lol!
I was in my early 20's in the 1980's Just got my own apartment, working hard, partying with friends, met my future husband, sooo much fun freedom! :) MTV was revolutionizing the music industry, fresh, new innovative music coming from everywhere... Best time of my Life.
I was 10. You can see how this would have been for a 10 year old!
Born in 85, and watched all the cool music videos on MTV, and VH1, back when those channels was worth watching. 80s and 90s music rules. 2000 to now sucks.
Gosh. This brings back so much memories!!!! This would always be playing in the clubs radio and everywhere. This is still one of my favorite songs. Her tap dancing is jaw dropping
I always loved Paula! I miss the 80s so much! My kid/teen years

Dancing Legend. Loved this song as a kid, and it's still a bop! Such a fun video! More artists should do this. I didn't appreciate the brilliance of her dancing like I do now. I loved it as a kid, but now I can see how freaking talented she was. Especially on cold hearted snake. The woman is one of the best dancers I have ever seen, and she choreographed pretty much all of the dances in h er videos! Some for Janet Jackson too! Her voice is also so unique. She truly stands out from the rest, even today.
