Excellent. The top shooters dry fire consistently. One note: For any technique, start slow and perform it slowly until you master it, then increase speed.

    Dry Fire.
Timed vs reps. In reality for a new shooter what does it matter?
Unless a new shooter is well schooled on EXACTLY what is the goal of dry fire and the CORRECT way to accomplish the goal of dry fire, it is all a waste of the new Shooter’s time.
Videos like this one and from live fire training, the instructor barks dry fire practice daily!! I’m glad to do exactly what I’m told but please tell me what is it you want me to actually do? What are the standards? How do I know I’m doing my dry fire correctly?

EXCELLENT Video! I dry fire (or practice) every day. As for timing myself I do not. I do different varieties of dry fire from holster draw to drawing trigger pull. I use a hammer fired gun. I use an iron sight gun or a red dot gun at different times. The long trigger pull for the hammer fired guns helps with the trigger muscle/memory. I do go to the range and fire around 200 to 250 rounds 1 time a week. It does get expensive but I want to be the best I can be. THANK YOU 2 for this video! KEEP ON ROCKING!

Earnest said anything past about 30 rounds is a waste to a certain degree. I'm curious if you notice a decrease in your acuracy as your session ends? I'm a new gun owner and thought your approach would be the way to go until I heard Earnest say otherwise.

I feel like I'm not learning anything helpful from dry firing because I am such a new shooter.

You are learning for sure. Every time you handle the gun, you are learning something. Dry fire is one of the very best teaching tools. It does not replace live fire but enhances the learning process.
